Indeed. My original investment in it was so high that the come-down feels that much worse

That's true. I think I ruined my own enjoyment of ZZZ because I tried to slog it out through the worst of 2.x, and when I did drop it, the game left such a bad taste on my mouth that I just can't get myself to give it a fair shot.

I started tuning out more and more of the story starting from the obol patch onwards and outright quit in 2.7. I was considering coming back, but I'm not sure. After reading how you described the newest storyline, I'm not sure if I'll ever engage with it to the same level I was hooked in the 1.x era

This is another very excellent point made on the site about why this is important. Remember we are talking about the 2nd biggest tech company in the world valued at around 3.8 Trillion...

A screenshot captured from from a section of the website https://keepandroidopen.org/ that reads:

This is bigger than Android

If Google can retroactively lock down billions of devices that were sold as open platforms, every hardware manufacturer on the planet is watching.

The principle being established: the company that made your device gets to decide, after you've bought it, what software you're allowed to run. In software, this is called a "rug pull"; but at least you could always install competing software. In hardware, it is a fait accompli that strips you of your agency and renders you powerless to the whims of a single unaccountable gatekeeper and convicted monopolist.

Android's openness was never just a feature. It was the promise that distinguished it from iPhone. Millions chose Android for exactly that reason. Google is now revoking that promise unilaterally, on devices already in people's pockets, because they've decided they have enough market dominance and regulatory capture to get away with it.

I can't go back to being a bud. AKIYAMA MIZUKI

A piece of Mizuki Akiyama lying down on a bed of roses, looking as if she was dead. The text reads “見ないで理解出来ないでしょう”, which roughly translates to “without seeing it, you can’t understand it, right?”. Mizuki, with her hand on her chest and her eyes blindfolded, has given up. She can no longer go back to being a bud, thus she feels as if she must disappear.

Artists, quote with some of your most detailed art! literally all old art *laughs nervously*

Digital art illustration; my OCs Rose, Sarah and A'den, sitting on the rail of a palace, decorated columns framing their figures. Rose is a 12yo white child with freckles on their face, long dark brown/teal blue ombre curly hair and they have red macaw wings and bird feet; they are smiling at Sarah and playing a lute, and a crown of white roses on their head; Rose's ears are covered in feathers too, like wings on the sides of her head. Sarah is a white 10yo girl with pink and yellow, feathered dragon wings and tail; she also had feathers on her legs and arms, and shiny little scales across her face, like freckles; Sarah has medium length, curly brown hair decorated with yellow and white flowers; Sarah has four short, chubby dragon horns coming from her head, and pointy ears. She's smiling back at Rose, playing a hurdy-gurdy on her lap. A'den is the little lion cub at Sarah's feet, playing with her tail. The palace is decorated with plants, and blue butterflies fly around the kids

My depiction of Xena, Warrior Princess and her mare Argo. In my version, Xena still has bright, light blue eyes and straight, chest-length black hair, but she's a lot more muscular, she has a darker/tanner skin tone crossed with all sorts of battle scars and one across her neck, and she's wearing an armor heavily inspired by Macedonian / Alexander The Great type of armor. She's looking off-frame, with a serious, thoughtful, distant expression. Across her waist, she has a Bulgarian-inspired traditional coins. She's standing in a golden wheat field, holding a xiphos sword with one hand, and the other resting on the muzzle of her mare, Argo; Argo is a palomino horse (golden coat, white, curly mane), and is behind Xena, resting her head against Xena's shoulder. The painting is digital, but style and composition and mimicking traditional oil paintings (Bouguereau, especially)

Digital art, colored; fantasy portrait of the members of the Swiss folk metal band, Eluveitie (with the formation they still had, back in 2015 when I did this piece).

It's a fantasy night scene in a forest, and all the eight members are playing magical, folk instruments around a bonfire (the bonfire is offscreen). All the members have deer antlers and ears, as if they were a type of fae/ forest folk, and they are all wearing flower crowns and medieval/fantasy outfits. Around them, books, music scores, instruments and glasses of wine are scattered, as if they were just drinking and jamming in the forest! Above them, perched on a branch, there's a raven singing with them. The instruments they are playing are releasing a blue-purple magic glow as they play.

"We are ancient, as ancient as the sun
We came from the ocean
Once our ancestral home
So that one day we could all return
To our birthright, the great celestial dome

(...) We are the children of the sun
Our kingdom will come
Sunflowers in our hair
We are the children of the sun
Our carnival's began
Our songs will fill the air"
("Children of the Sun" - Dead Can Dance)

Original Digital illustration inspired by the song "Children of the Sun", by Dead Can Dance. It portrays three black young, ethereal children wearing sunflowers and coins in their afro-styled hair, a long yellow sash around their torsos and wearing white, flowy pants. They are wearing brown, leather guards on their feet. Their eyes shine with a supernatural glow, and they have glittery, golden freckles on their round faces. They are floating over still water, and a bright sun shines behind them.

QRP with your artwork and share what other passions/jobs/hobbies you have! I'm OBSESSED about music, always listening to it, talking about it whenever I can, finding new songs, making all sorts of playlists with fun "rules" and etc; that passion is always showing in my work one way or another #art

Digital fanart depicting my rendition of Wakana Rei "LAYER", from the Bandori franchise. LAYER Is the vocalist and bassist of the band Raise a Suilen. LAYER is a 16-17yo Japanese lean girl with light skin and dark blue eyes (fantasy eye color). Her dark brown hair is chest-length, straight and cut in fluffy and flowy layers. She's wearing a black tank top, a black leather jacket full of spikes and studs. She has a red bass hanging in front of her, and she's holding a plushie of a cute wolf, a red ribbon in a bow around its neck. She's posing as if she' was onstage and someone took a picture of her, holding the plushie someone just threw for her. The background is dark and a red light is illuminating her from behind.

Digital colored spread, mimicking colored pencils style and textures; Varied drawings of DJ CHU², from the Bandori franchise, in my style. CHU² is a 14 year old girl (looks younger, 10 to 12), chubby with light skin, light blue eyes and long hair dyed pink/salmon, with dark blond roots showing. She's in a variety of poses and expressions, and she's mostly wearing super bright, colorful clothes and different, colorful cat-eared headphones throughout the drawings.

crop of an unfinished, digital sketch with some flat colors; it is the torso, arms and hands of Raiden Shogun (Genshin Impact), her kimono drawn in my style. We can't see her head, only neck down, as she plays a shamisen, resting on her lap.

"I'm gonna leave my body (Moving up to higher ground) I'm gonna lose my mind..." #art #GenshinImpact #RaidenShogun

Digital art mimicking some traditional textures. My rendition of Genshin Impact's Raiden Ei, following an art trend I saw on twitter. The trend is to draw a character based on a picture taken by dolikart (instagram). It's Ei's face in close-up, but it's partially covered by a shattered mask she's holding up with both her hands. Her face is painted in a realistic style and the mask is more like her original anime style from the game. Her real skin is pale and iridescent, her real eye has a supernatural glow in its pupil. The anime mask's eye is very detailed and done in a way that seems like it was painted on porcelain. She's looking off frame with a neutral / distant stare.
