And now *another* passport check and another queue. And *then* we’re packed on a bus to go to the plane - not even a ln air bridge. What has happened to Frankfurt airport? I have never seen it this bad. It’s really gone downhill.

Economy Class: Get to the airport - queue for check-in. Get to Immigration- queue. Get to baggage check - queue. Boarding group 6 - queue. I’m so bloody sick of queuing. I want to travel First Class and shimmy onto my flight swiftly and with dignity.

Frankfurt airport in utter chaos. Lines to immigration hundreds of people long, automated border controls for EU passport holders out of order, hardly any immigration personnel at the counter. People are going to Ryan missing flights at this rate.

I had the good fortune to meet both 2026 Nobel chemistry laureates when I was a researcher but spent more time with Prof. Soai when he was at Tokyo University of Science and I worked for Nature Publishing Group in Tokyo. So happy for both of them!!

The Korean name of the show is 감사합니다 (kamsa hamnida) which means “we audit” - 감사 (監査) means “audit” and 합니다 is the polite form of 하다 “to do”. The joke is that it sounds the same as “I thank you”. The phrase “I thank you” is identical in Hangul letters (감사합니다) but in Chinese characters is written 感謝.
