Just finished playing out the rest of the games with that Izzet Prowess deck I drafted on stream yesterday, and I somehow went 7-2... I think people are still figuring out how this draft environment works, so I managed to get pretty lucky with my win streak, haha.

Attended another MTG booster draft at the same card shop that I went to a few Wednesdays ago. Of course, they were doing Reality Fracture now that the set is out, and there were 11 players there for the draft, one of whom being the friend I attended that Final Fantasy draft with three weeks ago.

Finneas deserves a commander portrait card! And no, not just because he's the only commander I've used so far.

Took some time today to go through all of the Reality Fracture cards I got over the weekend. It looks like I managed to get almost everything I need for the Strixhaven vs Hexhaven cube and am just missing 1 mythic and 11 rares, which is pretty good.

Went to a third Reality Fracture prerelease, this time with my mahjong friends at the card shop we had gone to for Sunday prerelease events before. There was a total of 30 players for the prerelease. Once again, the rares in my sealed pool weren't super impactful, so I was rather worried at first.

Went to another Reality Fracture prerelease with friends, this time at another LGS that doesn't run a whole lot of MTG events outside of Commander, though I do regularly buy singles there. They capped out at 15 players per prerelease event. Given what happened at yesterday's prerelease,

Went to an MTG Reality Fracture prerelease at the usual Friday night card shop with a few friends. There were 12 players for the event. My sealed pool was really weak; most of my rares were in blue, but none of them were all that strong, so I just went with white and black for flyers and removal.

Went to ASC just for today. I was there for about 7 hours with about 6 of those being in the tabletop area as expected, haha. And most of that time was spent getting roped into mahjong games that needed a fourth player. I wasn't expecting it, but every game I played had at least one newer player,

Looks like I'll be able to make it to ASC today. As usual, I plan to spend most of my time there in the tabletop area, haha. Come find me if you want to play Magic or mahjong!

Haku @haku5z.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to Day 1 of ASC. A friend was going through a crisis, and I needed to support them. We've gotten things settled for now, so I'm going to check on them tomorrow, but I might be able to find some time to attend the con for a bit. I'll have to figure it out tomorrow.

Since the full set list for Reality Fracture has been spoiled at this point (minus like 4 cards), I've been working on my Strixhaven vs Hexhaven cube. It's going to be an interesting cube to balance given that the Strixhaven schools will still be the primary archetypes with the Hexhaven schools

I'll be at ASC 2026 this upcoming weekend on Friday and Saturday, similar to last year. I don't have any solid plans as of yet and will likely spend most of my time at the con in the tabletop area, probably playing MTG Commander. I guess I could also maybe play mahjong, haha.

Had the opportunity to go to an MTG booster draft at a card shop I've never been to before, so I went with a friend as sort of a spontaneous thing for us to do on a Wednesday night, haha. There were a total of 8 players there tonight, and we were drafting Final Fantasy.

Went to another MTG booster draft at the usual LGS. Tonight, we were drafting the Avatar set since it was either that or TMNT, haha. We had a total of 4 players, so we did a Pick Two Draft, as is tradition. The rare in my first pack was Fire Lord Zuko, which is pretty bad in limited, so I just took

I actually had the chance to go to that larger card shop that's big on limited and runs booster drafts on Mondays to draft The Hobbit, so I went with a local furry friend who asked me to call him a dingus in this post, haha. There were 14 players tonight, so they ran a pod of 8 and a pod of 6.

Went to another MTG booster draft at the usual LGS tonight. We were drafting The Hobbit tonight, and I'm still not sure how I feel about the limited environment, but I figured I'd give the draft a try. There were only 4 players tonight, so we had to do a Pick Two draft.

Went to an MTG The Hobbit prerelease at the usual Friday card shop. There ended up being 16 players, which was nice. It was mostly the regular prerelease crowd, haha. I actually got some very good pulls from my prerelease kit, including three mythics: The Arkenstone, Dancing from Dark to Dawn, and

I've been searching all week for some standard-sized, non-matte, clear card sleeves for those artist proofs I got. Since matte sleeves have become the norm, non-matte clear sleeves have been rather difficult to find. I actually checked at all seven of my local card shops, a local hobby store, and

Finneas, Ace Archer has been my favorite MTG character and commander for a long while now, so I reached out to Cory Godbey, the artist who did the showcase version art for Finneas and a few other Bloomburrow cards, to see if it would be possible to get an artist proof of his rendition of Finneas.

Went to a MTG draft at the usual card shop tonight. People wanted to do Marvel Super Heroes, and I wasn't against trying a draft for it even though I don't care about the set at all. Went to the Marvel Superheroes prerelease event at the usual card shop. As I mentioned on stream, I was mostly going to support a friend I helped get into MTG earlier this year, otherwise I probably would've skipped this set, haha. There were a total of 15 players there tonight.

I was reminded last week that Miraculous got a trading card game back in 2023. It only got one set, which is not surprising in the slightest. I was able to find a seller in the US that has a bunch of stock though, so I went ahead and bought a bunch of starter decks and booster boxes for cheap, haha.

Went to another Secrets of Strixhaven booster draft at the usual card shop tonight. We hadn't been able to get any drafts going recently, but we managed to get a total of 5 players tonight. My pack one pick one was Flashback, a pretty easy choice that would be good in any red theme.

Haku @haku5z.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

Decided to actually put together that Secrets of Strixhaven cube this week, haha. I built it to replicate a booster draft pretty well, including cards being seeded by rarity and common collation. I also plan to expand this cube to include Hexhaven when Reality Fracture comes out later this year.

My Secrets of Strixhaven cube in its carrying case. The bottom row includes basic lands on the left and tokens, emblems, and prepared markers on the right. The middle row has 9 player's worth of packs for draft, and the top row has the leftover cards from the cube. The carrying case has extra, currently-unused space for the planned Hexhaven expansion later this year.

However, I found out that they have the card sleeves I like and have been meaning to get for a cube,
