How Democratic consultants, committees, and party leaders built a fundraising spam pipeline that funnels money from a captive pool of elderly donors into their own operations.

Yeah I didn’t know until I was researching the crew after the mission for work. It was definitely underreported. On the US side that tracks with everything else going on, but it’s strange the Canadians didn’t make a bigger deal out of it. Maybe they just didn’t want to get the guy dragged into stuff

The Artemis II astronauts had their iPhones with them and posted photos taken out the spacecraft window with them. Easy alley-oop of a marketing opportunity

1% in SF, 0.5% in the suburbs. It would be better if it was equal everywhere, but either way 1% is not a significant cost burden compared to losing access to functioning transit.

You go really fast on Amtrak-owned trackage between New York and Harrisburg, and then brutally slow on CSX-owned trackage between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.

He spoke awkwardly (as he always does, because he’s a weird freak) and you are demonstrating an inability to accurately interpret the meaning of multiple words in combination, which is interesting

I’m not saying he likes cities, I think he hates all of them except NYC. I am just pointing out what he literally said. This is not an opinion it is the meaning of the words. But again, 50+ percent functionally illiteracy.

That’s obviously not what he’s saying though. He’s saying if you let them have a nuke they’ll take out an American city, and high gas prices are a small price to pay to avoid that. It’s dumb and wrong but he’s presenting high gas prices as the cost of SAVING LA or San Diego

You should add one or two Alaska races on here. We have a very real chance to elect a Dem governor and an all-Dem House majority for the first time in decades.

In the newsletter you write that these trains are better than anything else currently running in the Baltics. Are the onboard facilities/comfort markedly better than Estonia’s older FLIRTs?

Yeah the fines are way too low, companies just account for it as part of expenses. Henry Grabar wrote about this a lot in Paved Paradise. Also sometimes the companies (in particular the ice cream trucks were guilty of this) would just never pay them and would switch around license plates to evade.

Yes I agree we shouldn’t use trains as homeless shelters, we should build and operate proper places for people to live and get assistance

I don’t think disinformation is really part of it at all. People are increasingly operating on the correct information that Israel is committing a genocide. The question is do they then attribute that genocide to the fascist nature of the Israeli government or to its self-professed Jewish nature
