It would be so cool if the United States Congress still existed.

Only finished 42 books last year rather than my goal of 50. Oh well, maybe less screen time in 2026.

Merry had an abscess and had to get it drained. He had an out of body experience with his pain meds and now he has to wear a surgery suit for several days. (He's totally fine.) #catsky

Bought 2 new books to get through this weekend. Cozy, witchy ones that I KNOW I'll love but instead I played Switch games and watched anime all weekend. 😅 Whoops. #booksky #disassociation

Feeling a little burned out since I finally caught back up to my reading goals so I'm gonna do Broken Bonds by J. Bree again because my brain deserves some junk food. #booksky

Currently doing Shades of Milk and Honey which is a cute Pride and Prejudice-esque romance that has just a little bit of magic in it. Pretty cozy! #booksky

Redoing A Touch of Darkness because I picked up A Game of Fate and I remember nothing about it. 😅 I've read so many Hades x Persephone that they are blurring together.

Putting Greek myth into modern sensibilities will ALWAYS have confusing moral messages. The original Odyssey is a story about Odysseus' hubris and pride and how it forced reach his home so late. But Epic the Musical (as awesome as the songs are) shifted the overall message by A LOT.

It's because Odysseus killed Helios' (the titan-god who is the personification of the sun) cows. There IS a myth somewhere about Hermes stealing Apollo's cows when he was a little baby though, and to apologize he creates the lyre and gifts it to Apollo.

Finished Sunrise on the Reaping today and now I want to reread the entire Hunger Games trilogy. Poor Haymich. He deserved so much better.

Oh shit really? Not that it matters but is that the gal who played Circe? Or are you talking about someone else?

If you live this one, you should give Hadestown a try. It's also based on Greek myth and is also very emotional. ❤️

Jorge! When we get our hands on you, Jorge! 🤬😭🥰 For real, though, he's so good at emotional manipulation through song.

I've reread The Odyssey, read Stone Blind, Song of Achilles, Clytemnestra, and next on deck is One Thousand Ships. When I get my hands on you, Jorge. 🤣 Epic is consuming my brain whole. So excited for Ilium.

I keep watching YouTubers reacting to Epic the Musical because none of the humans in my life like it as much as I do and it feels like watching with a friend. 🥰😅

You may not like Odysseus as much in that book. The Epic version of Odysseus is a sweet puppy compared to the real Odysseus. I'm stuck in the same hole! Currently doing Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati for the same reason. One Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes is next. 😅🥰

Finished The Witch and the Tsar by Olesya Salnikova Gilmore. Very fun and interesting read. A story about Baba Yaga, but one told in a way that was pretty new to me. Made me realize how little I know about Russian/Slavic paganism. 4.5/5 ⭐️ app.thestorygraph.com/books/e273d5...

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune app.thestorygraph.com/books/568a24... Overall: 5⭐/5 Spice: 0🌶️/5 Romance: 2❤️ /5 I cried through this one. Found family tropes always get me. Really beautiful novel. The romance is slow burn and only a secondary piece of the story. But it's gaaaaay. 😍🥰

When the Moon Hatched By Sarah A. Parker app.thestorygraph.com/books/195468... Overall: 4⭐/5 Spice: 2🌶️/5 Romance: 4❤️ /5 I enjoyed this one a lot even though I guessed the twist early. The romance was slow burn but the magic system was super cool. Fun fantasy novel. 💕
