Not at all, apologies if that’s your take on what I’m saying. But, like it or not - the data supports my point. www.gov.uk/government/s...
Analysis by subgroups
By age:
• Mainstream media sources such as TV, radio and newspapers were more likely to be chosen as a source of climate change information by older people compared with younger people. For example: between 38% and 44% of people aged 55 and over used newspapers or their websites, compared with between 28% and 31% of those in age groups from 16 to 34.
• Older people aged 65 or over were less likely than all other age groups to search online: (19% compared with between 27% and 33%) and to get information from friends and family (25% compared with between 31% and 37%).

💯 30 years ago, many could make a decent living on far lower costs and less fierce competition. That’s simply not the case today Something like 50-60% of businesses close in their first year, and 80% in their first 5. Id hardly call that thriving www.restroworks.com/blog/restaur...
Data shows that within the first year, roughly 17% of restaurants close, which grows significantly over time. In the UK, about 60% of restaurants shut down in the first year, and within five years, the failure rate reaches nearly 80%.

Over 4,000 outlets closed down in the UK in 2024, a noticeable increase compared to previous years. The last quarter alone saw closures spike to an average of eight per day, reflecting ongoing pressures on profitability.

A range of factors, including high energy costs, inflation, and labor shortages, have significantly impacted restaurant profitability, contributing to increased closure rates.

The bottom headline reads “Nine dead in missile attack on Israel as Iran strikes region” with annotations saying the culprit is clearly identified and that “attack” is framed as fact, not accusation

The rise in small boat arrivals since 2017/18 speaks for itself
Bar chart titled “Summer arrivals by small boats”, showing the number of small‑boat arrivals to the UK between 1 June and 31 August for each year from 2018 to 2025. The x‑axis lists the summers in order: Summer 2018 (14 arrivals), Summer 2019 (700), Summer 2020 (3,308), Summer 2021 (8,742), Summer 2022 (15,458), Summer 2023 (12,491), Summer 2024 (10,604), and Summer 2025 (14,191). Tall red vertical bars rise sharply from 2018 to a peak in 2022, dip in 2023 and 2024, and rise again in 2025, with numeric labels above each bar and a horizontal gridline at 15,000 arrivals.

Took this a step further - U.K. political party donations ytd compared with their current polling figures. One of these is not like the others.
Horizontal grouped bar chart titled “UK Party Donations vs Polling: 2025 YTD”. For each of five parties, there are two bars: donations in millions of pounds and polling percentage. Reform UK has the highest donations at around £13m and polling just over 30 percent. The Conservatives have roughly £11m in donations but under 20 percent polling. Labour has about £7m in donations and around 15 percent polling. The Liberal Democrats show roughly £3m in donations and about 11 percent polling. The Green Party has only about £0.25m in donations but around 17 percent polling, giving them higher voter support than Labour despite far less funding.
