Are these the same people who are against student loan forgiveness where one pays $100,000 over 20+ years on a $50,000 loan and still owes $48,000? My mom had 12% interest on our first home. The house cost $60,000. The same house now costs $300,000. I think affordability might be the bigger problem

I can tie the disintegration of my extended family to the rise of Fox News. Both my husband and I lost beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins to the hate spiral they generated. We haven’t changed but they did when they started watching almost 24/7.

It has ALWAYS been this way! I know a contractor who worked for him in the late 1980s. He was stiffed, sued, and won. The current president still didn’t pay. Taking him back to court didn’t help at all.

I inexplicably started prepping in 2018. It allowed my family to weather the COVID shutdown and help others close to us. A reasonably stocked pantry should be the equivalent of putting your oxygen mask on first so you’re able to help those around you.

I was in Ireland during his first term. I didn’t meet anyone who liked or respected him back then. Can’t imagine how it could possibly improve this term. My daughter has wanted to immigrate there for over a decade.

I know of one who complained in 2025 about DOGE cuts, got assistance through a Democrat, then went right back to MAGA. He out complaining again. If anyone else experiences any form of hardship they are told to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and make better choices.

My daughter’s Crohn’s medicine is $20-25k per dose without insurance ($500 with ins). She takes it every six weeks. I am terrified about what happens when she ages off my policy.

I still need to take a DNA test. I was told it’s a combination of Cherokee and Blackfeet. My grandfather took his German mother’s name. Looking at pictures of him and my dad, it’s pretty obvious. They both worked outdoor jobs to hide it. It was easier if people thought they were “tan.”

I lost my Native American heritage because my grandfather assimilated. I only learned about it when my dad wanted me to apply for minority aid. He got mad when I refused because I looked like my Scandinavian mother. I have spent the last 30 years trying to recover the heritage I lost.😢

I remember getting them at the sitter’s. My mom worked really long hours. They didn’t trust me to cook even though my grandma taught me when I was 5. Maybe I’m feeling nostalgic now that I’m drinking the leftover rum. I made a batch of vanilla extract.

MN-1’s bootlicker Brad Finstad has more ads than I have seen in any previous election. He’s talking about the tax cuts he delivered (for the wealthy) and how good it’s going. I have friends who were teen moms. One became a great grandmother at 52. It was hard enough back then. I can’t imagine doing it in the current economy while the government is actively dismantling social safety nets.

The president literally said “I don’t want to tell you” where several tons of meat is coming from😳 Living in a rural Midwest community makes it a little easier to get meat and produce locally. We have also been using brown lentils to make a pound of ground beef stretch into 3 meals for my family.

I have lived in a country where there were special butchers and people commonly consumed horse meat. This makes me nervous because we have no clue where the meat is coming from or what sort of inspections have been completed. I’m fortunate to be able to buy beef directly from a small local farmer.
