Well, well, so the last month of Keir Starmer’s premiership ended with stronger than forecast growth. New data from the ONS shows the UK economy expanded by 0.4% in July alone, smashing forecasts that the economy would stagnate during the month. That follows growth of 0.3% in June 2026.

This is exactly right. Starmer’s final word at his last PMQ was ‘goodbye’ - his intention was clear. After all why should he hang around with few hundred Labour MPs and cabinet colleagues who assassinated him.

I read Burnham’s government is investing £110m to urgently build new prison cells. Not new investment, rather using monies announced by Starmers’s government 2025 spending review. 7bn capital monies was allocated for 2024‑25 to 2029‑30. to create 14,000 prison places by 2031.
