ur mom dies, then ur dad leaves to become ur ambassador and then mysteriously stops responding to letters right before the country he’s in breaks ur alliance, then this woman who has helped raise u dies the night before ur wedding, then ur husband dies, then u have a miscarriage-

some of the reviews complaining abt the romance being lacking…..baby this is a book abt examining colonialism and its effects ofc the relationship between the colonized woman and the colonizer isn’t great and wonderful and sweet

i love talking abt sapphic books but i do think we need to be mindful of the fact that not all books are romance books and therefore just bc a book contains a sapphic couple, that doesn’t mean u will automatically like the book

my mom complains that everyone in our family makes fun of her for always being late to stuff but she literally waits until the last possible second to get ready, takes an hour, has to run and get gas, money, drinks, etc,

jax 🌱 @gwsnluvr.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

the mc has no real defining features other than looking like a basic human (its an android) but i was not picturing it looking like a white man while i was reading book 1

000

jax 🌱 @gwsnluvr.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

yhis series is also being made into an apple tv series so i’m excited and also nervous bc they cast the main character in a completely different way than i pictured it but its fine the writer said ahe was excited so!

010

jax 🌱 @gwsnluvr.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

its okay i read book 1 of a seven book series and loved it so my next 6 books are all planned out hopefully

100

jax 🌱 @gwsnluvr.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

i don’t dnf books much bc i take forever to choose my next book which holds up my reading process so much that i’ll choose to read fanfic over actual books bc they’re safe and familiar and i don’t have to make a decision

010

jax 🌱 @gwsnluvr.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

my bookish new years resolution is to get better at dnfing and, in conjunction with that, to get riskier with my reading choices/be less judgey when i choose books

110

jax 🌱 @gwsnluvr.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

its not. a bad book its just. not For Me just some of the technical elements were irritating me and the mc was just. kinda annoying tbh 😭

000

jax 🌱 @gwsnluvr.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

i’m happy i have a good intuition bc i’m only one chapter in so i’m fine with dnfing rn

i find out oomfs vape and it does influence the way i view them idk
