How's the Georgia Ave bridge coming along?

Has been a few years since i followed this project very closely, but there's one final phase, which would take it under Burlington Ave bridge and meet up with the existing segment at King St. Unsure if that's been funded. Certainly a future phase

Construction for the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Silver Spring. This runs from East-West Highway over Georgia avenue and to the transit center. I think this is the last major section under construction at the moment!
Construction parallel to railroad tracks. High rise buildings of Silver Spring in the background.

“We need an Ozempic for cars. They are growing at a phenomenal rate, wreaking havoc on roads, squeezing out smaller vehicles and endangering pedestrians. Like ever-hungry teenagers, cars in Europe are growing on average a centimetre wider every year.” Don’t repeat North America’s mistake, Europe.

Britain’s cars and SUVs are growing bigger – but there is a way to stop this deadly ‘carspreading’ | Christian Wolmar
Larger vehicles crowd our roads and are far more dangerous to pedestrians. Let’s curb them before they do even more damage, says says transport commentator Christian Wolmar

When you're in the back of an ambulance, every second makes a difference — and a single minute could mean the difference between life and death. New research shows that congestion pricing sped up EMS travel times by more than a minute.

Yep, I mean hypothetical people. They deserve the space and courtesy and at a city intersection, they'll show up soon enough. There's a perfectly good other place for me to hang out until the light changes

I tend to think that if you're regularly blocking a pedestrian space where a person walking COULD be, then you're often in the way and should stop differently. Respect and priority to people more vulnerable is paramount

Something's not quite adding up here at a new building site in NoMa. Someone must be pretty bad at puzzles too. Womp womp
View of a street crossing from the sidewalk. There is a ramp on the near side down to a crosswall. Ok the far side, where a building is still under construction, the crosswalk leads to a curb and no ramp

About the material of two inverted Us but probably can't fit four bikes. Pretty though. If space and capacity aren't an issue and installation isn't a nightmare, that's some nice street furniture

The Federal Transit Administration released its annual report on new transit projects to fund. The report recommends a total of just $1.2 b for existing & new projects, a massive reduction from previous years. The federal role in funding new transit projects is being decimated.

This kind of ambition for building more places for people to live across the city is one of so many reasons I'm proud to support JLG for Mayor. I can't see McDuffie or the others leading and taking risks on anything like this. DC needs a More Housing, More Places Mayor

Politically, the two biggest problems with the streetcar were named Bowser and Mendelson. Failure wasn’t inevitable, but they guaranteed it.

That said, ddot did drop some jersey barriers into the street just south of here to widen the sidewalk, and the Long Bridge project, now underway, will push the bridge abutments back ~15 ft to remove that pinch point under the bridge and make a more visible off- ramp intersection
