I have a few different illustrations in various stages of progress right now, and I adore them all, probably because they are ALL scary fantasy women with dramatic lighting. Now that I'm just making art for me, nothing is stopping me from being Peak Bisexual on main 😈

Derusting with a comfort-zone portrait study using one of @howardlyonart.bsky.social 's photography packs (which I highly recommend!!) It was nice to chip away at this over a few days now that I'm not stuck in Moving Hell 💜

Portrait of a woman with horns and ornately blinged-out elf ears looking suspiciously over her shoulder. There is a strong pink-purple rim light highlighting the right side of her face, neck, and hair.

I am a big fan of spooky witch flavored things (shocker, I know) and my friend Paul, so I'm very very very excited for this game 👀👀👀👀

Cara now also exists?? I'm honestly not super online anymore (except for tumblr, you can pry my carefully curated feed of 3 IRL friends and two chicken-keeping blogs from my cold dead hands), but I made an account over there for nothing else if not completion's sake! cara.app/post/43e1fdb...

Rhystic Study - painted for MTG's Wilds of Eldraine. Probably my favourite painting I've ever made.

A mermaid sits on some coral in a treasure filled grotto. She reads a barnacle-encrusted book.

I hear Shar is heavily featured in the new Baldur's Gate, but I haven't had time to play past the character creation screen 😭😭😭 She's my favorite and I'm being so brave about it (here's a Shar painting I did two years ago for Uncaged Goddesses, back before I worked at WotC!)

Art nouveau style illustration of Shar, the goddess of darkness, loss, and secrets. Her body is made of the starry night, and black lightning crackles in her hands as a purple halo frames her wild hair. Ravens swirl around her and her realm in the distance.

Oh actually I guess I should share art and an intro! Hi! I'm Gwen, a fantasy illustrator, and I love painting dramatic lighting, magic sparkles, and spooky ladies. I post a new illustration about once every six months and then vanish back into the ether.

Illustration of an eerie woman wearing a red dress, standing at the balcony of an old Victorian Gothic style building. Harsh diagonal light strikes her face, the shadows it casts mimicking the skull that hovers between her hands.

Illustration of Waukeen, the goddess of coin and commerce. She stands proud against a night sky, illuminated from behind by a bright halo. Her head and eyes are covered with a crown and mask of gold filigree and coins, and she wears an ornate mantle of coins over her shoulders.
