I didn’t cut any dahlias this week, leaving them out to enjoy in the yard. Here’s a Walter Hardisty (only bloom I have of this, so far) that someone nibbled on but still looks good.

Finally have some dahlia blooms for the video call backdrop. (Peaches n Cream, Lark’s Ebbe, Parkland Tribute, Ice Tea, I think - I didn’t check all the labels and may have mixed one up)

Post the last pic you took of your pet. No cheating.

Every year for Father’s Day Eleanor gets me a new mug. This year it’s from Trotwood Ceramics in Chattanooga (trotwoodceramics on IG/Threads). Good thing I’m right-handed or he’d be kicking me in the face!

I’m only on Fitt 2 but this modern kid retelling of Beowulf is spectacular. I’ve laughed out loud 3 times already.

It feels really good to vote for Working Families Party candidates. I'm so glad to finally live in a place with electoral fusion. Also voting early rocks and everyone should get to do this.

When I woke up this morning it was almost freezing, and I thought that might have been the last of the dahlias for the year. But, I got a bunch of great blooms. It warms up this week so I may get a few more before frost sets in.

Hopefully there's one more batch of dahlias before the frost. Here's some of everything I grew this year: Kelvin Floodlight, Belle of Barmera, Parkland Tribute, Ice Tea, and Cornel.

A couple damp dahlias today, a Cornel and an Ice Tea. Not pictured is another of the Kelvin Floodlights, and the Belle of Barmera that got so big it snapped off on Saturday.

Just one dahlia this week, a Belle of Barmera. It’s bigger than my hand. A bunch of yellow ones are almost ready, so I may do a midweek swap.

I have some dahlias to start the week: three Cornel blooms that turned out almost perfect. Here’s hoping they’re a good omen for an almost perfect week.

mystery dahlia has fully opened up This was listed as Belle of Barmera but the color is very different from what I expected, so who knows. I got it as a plant from the West Hartford Garden Club plant sale, I’m assuming it was grown from a cutting. #dahlia
