I’m always amazed by how some simple graphics made in PowerPoint, and OBS extensions can come together to make fun visuals. I still have a ways to go, especially if I wanted to VJ, but it’s such a great deal of fun!
Screenshot of OBS Studio showing off the video layout sent to VRCDN. Video stream has a “reserved portion” at the top third for a future implementation of DMX, while the remaineder has a primary visual, some info text mentioning NXT Dance Cats and a third panel serving as a secondary visual. Un-subdividing your mesh is as easy as 3 steps! 1. Mark the UV seams from your UV islands 2. Select every other edge loop (Alt + Click) across your whole mesh (video shows small example on my hands) 3. Dissolve the edges! 🧵3/6

As many folks find VRC's 70k tri limit hard to hit (including myself) I have found that on bases that were originally subdivided you can un-subdivide them to reduce ~75% of your body's tri count without a significant drop in fidelity! 🧵2/6

Its easy to pick apart low poly geometry when it stands still, but once you're in motion, you can get away with a lot! A quick on 🧵how I got my avi from very poor to a medium with a quick "hack" in blender! 🧵1/6

CW: Flashing Lights // As part of revamping the dance floor in Skyline, I am playing around with the idea of an audio linked dance floor... thoughts? #vrchat

I wanted to optimize some of the world decor in Skyline, and using this simple trick I cut about 60 batches! Feeling good and fast with many frames!
A screenshot of the Unity Editor before the optimization. The batches were at 186 with 101 saved, rendering across 171k tris.A screenshot of the Unity Editor after the optimization. The batches are now at 127 with 12 saved, rendering across 144k tris.

Its amazing how good a simple bottle using inverted normals can look! Just some simple contents of a bottle without needing more than an opaque shader!

The Ministry "M" was modelled by tracing over the logo with smoothed curves. The colours in the pride flags were driven by a curve position variable set by a simple geometry node that fed into a colour ramp for the flag colours.

The scene was quite simple. A simple spot light with an image texture for colour casting the Progress Pride flag on a plane with a PBR brick texture. In front were floating text elements using the Ministry letter set.

Inspiration for the design came first from a previous design of the Ministry "M" in front of a brick wall. The key inspiration from this piece was the emissive nature of the "M" and the light casted on the wall. These two elements laid the foundation of this year's banner.
The ministry "M" is depicted as a neon red sign casting a glow on a brick wall. Below the "M" is the text of "Ministry" with a linktree link, and QR code in the bottom right.

Briefly, the poster depicts the Ministry logo re-imagined in full pride regalia, showing the progress pride, pride, sunset lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, pansexual, asexual, and aromantic flags!
This poster depicts the Ministry Logo and "M" re-imagined in full pride regalia. The red in "Ministry" is replaced by a rainbow. The Ministry "M" is re-imagined as a neon light fixture depicting the 'Sunset' Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender flags as illuminated elements, while the Non-Binary, Pansexual, Asexual, and Aromanic flags substitute geometric elements in the design. The entire design sits in front of a brick wall, representing the connections ministry builds between communities, DJ's, and dancers, illuminated in this graphic by the Progress Pride flag.

Now that its in the Pride world, I thought I would do a quick breakdown of how I made @ministrypromotions.bsky.social's submission for the 2026 Pride Poster Contest!
