One day I'm complaining that some low-poly but unoptimized indie games are running poorly on the Thor, the next week a GameNative update is released, that gives me +10FPS on the same games.

The parts are different, but chip companies are changing their production lines to build only server versions, inducing shortages. AYN is already hit by shortages.

We' d like to share a quick update regarding our current production and upcoming plans.

Thor is currently in the process of fulfilling shipments from previous batches, and we will soon be opening the next round of pre-orders — Thor Batch 6 and Odin 3 Batch 7.

Following the recent surge in DRAM pricing, we are now facing a difficult situation with UFS storage. Due to supply shortages and significant cost increases, UFS 4.0 is no longer available at a sustainable level. As a result, Thor and Odin 3 will transition to UFS 3.1 moving forward (From new preorder Thor Batch 6 and Odin 3 Batch 7).

We will be doing our best to maintain the existing pricing for Thor Base and Pro models despite these challenges. However, the cost increase for 1TB UFS has been substantial, and we unfortunately have to adjust the price of the Thor Max (16GB + 1TB) to $549.

On a more positive note, we are introducing a new configuration: a 16GB RAM model paired with 512GB storage, priced at $469.

I have the Pro model (Rainbow), ordered in January so before the storage downgrade and price increases. It has become my mini-Steam Deck (I don't own any Steam deck). If you really want one, think fast, it will also be hit by price increases at some point.

Loddlenaut, a relaxing underwater adventure/cleaning game, very fitting for the Thor. It seems after a few GameNative updates, the game now runs smoother and is even more pleasant to play.

Another game that runs great on the Thor: Left 4 Dead 2. I tried it in coop on a local network and it worked surprisingly well. I was just not very used to playing it with a controller. Note: you need to set GameNative to launch the actual Steam client for online play to work.

I feel like Ayn Thor posts on bluesky are a bit too focused on console emulation, even though it's a great device for playing PC games, so I'll post a bit of what I'm playing on it. Here's Hot Shot Racing, the first game I got running without any fiddling + perfect framerate and controller support.

Currently playing Loddlenaut on my Ayn Thor, a short relaxing underwater adventure. Also accidently replayed through Alan Wake because it's still so good and looks great.

Testing some PC games from my library on the AYN Thor. Alan Wake (1 and American Nightmare) are still so good that instead of only testing them, I'm currently finishing them again. They look so good on a small screen, even playing at lower settings. (Using GameNative connected to my GOG account)

I had the Ricky Carmichael game on GBA, which was also actual 3D but didn't look nearly as good, and felt pretty bad overall. If I had known there was a V-Rally game on GBA, I would have looked into it. I was already pretty impressed by the GBC one.

Explications et lettre type:

"En particulier, le décret principal relève le seuil en-dessous duquel un élevage industriel peut continuer à s'agrandir automatiquement sur simple « enregistrement » automatique ou « déclaration » sans faire l'objet de procédure environnementale et sanitaire (procédure de « l' autorisation »).

En modifiant notamment les modalités de classement des ICPE (installations classées pour la protection de l'environnement), le décret fait monter ces seuils :

- de 40.000 à 85.000 pour les poulets de chair (plus d'un doublement !),
- de 40.000 à 60.000 pour les poules pondeuses,
- de 2000 à 3000 pour les porcs,
- de 750 à 900 truies reproductrices,
- de 200 à 400 vaches laitières (l'enregistrement simplifié passe de 100 à 200),
- de 500 à 800 bovins à l'engraissement (l'enregistrement simplifié passe de 400 à 500).

Ce relèvement des seuils ne bénéficiera qu'aux plus grands élevages concentrationnaires, conduisant à tirer les prix vers le bas au détriment de 95% des éleveurs français et au seul bénéfice de quelques industriels. Il aura des conséquences catastrophiques pour la ressource en eau et les écosystèmes, l'insécurité sanitaire, les conditions de vie des animaux, les nuisances de voisinage, l'aménagement du territoire…

Nous vous invitons à répondre massivement à cette consultation. Même si nous savons que le nouveau gouvernement continuera à passer en force, l'exemple de la pétition ayant recueilli plus de 2 millions de signatures nous démontre que la mobilisation publique permet de faire entendre la voix citoyenne et effrite la morgue de nos dirigeants. Plus nous serons nombreux à contester, moins ils auront de légitimité, plus ils auront de comptes à nous rendre."

Il n'y a aucune justification à faciliter l'enrichissement de quelques industriels et à court-circuiter les procédures élémentaires de contrôle environnemental, sanitaire et démocratique."
