I've already made plenty of compote and jam from the peaches that fell off the tree. But there are still many more hanging on the tree in the garden. Sigh... what on earth am I going to do with them? (No liqueur or anything like that.) #fruits #garden #harvest #gardening

While slowly finalizing my non-fiction book "Maypole Traditions and Related Phenomena"... (further text as image) #writing #nonfiction #books #BookSky #WriterSky #writingcommunity #writers

As I work on what might be my final book (my motivation has faded), I thought it would be nice to have a famous or well-known person write a lovely short introduction at the beginning of it. However, as I reflected on my circle of acquaintances, I realized that, to the best of my knowledge, there aren't any such famous individuals among them. There are many wonderful people—kind, loving, friendly, empathetic, helpful, trustworthy, social, and possessing many other positive traits—but when it comes to fame or recognition... I have no idea. So, I guess I should let go of the idea of that introduction.

The story:
In the first century CE the apostles Philip and James were traveling on a conversion mission. They were assisted by a virgin named Walburga. The young woman faced slander from pagans along the road. In response to the mockery, Walburga took her walking stick, planted it into the earth, knelt, and prayed before it. Miraculously, the stick changed in a small blossoming tree before the eyes of the pagans.
