On this date in 1983 after playing 23 years, the Red Sox honor and celebrate Carl Yastrzemski at Fenway Park. The fans give him a 6 minute standing ovation, he receives gifts, gives a speech and then runs around Fenway Park to high-five and shake hands with fans.
