Q: Are there any specific details or elements in the work that you personally really liked or wanted to point out to the audience?
Yes! I especially enjoy writing dialogues. I imagine them addressing each other with formalities and titles, mainly out of respect and tradition from when they first met. Zhongli is a bit more reluctant to drop them as he holds her in such high regard. In contrast, Guizhong often teases while doing so. This was a bit of a challenge to me since English is not my first language, but it was fun to try!
Q: Where can we find you/your works, and is there anything that you would like to promote?
I post most of my work on this Twitter account (I've been inactive for a while, but I'm working on it!), on Tumblr and on AO3 under the same name [shinyarmin], and I have a self-indulgent Guili playlist on Spotify in case anyone is interested! I add new songs from time to time.

Q: Are there any specific details or elements in the work that you personally really liked or wanted to point out to the audience?
In this piece, I really poured my heart out in the imagery. I tried to capture each emotion with a lot of visceral detail, and so my greatest pleasure would be to have the reader imagine the story playing out like a movie or a scene from a drama, a vivid moment that can be seen and felt vicariously. I personally really liked writing the progression of Guizhong's grief within her final moments with Zhongli and how each second carries a great, immutable weight with it, a sort of urgency that comes with knowing that there's no time left, the future she wished for them is no longer possible, and that they have to make the most out of the brief time they have left with each other.

Q: What was your inspiration in creating this piece, and how were you inspired to put Guizhong and Zhongli in this piece?
I think manhwa-styled comics are a big general inspiration for my art.
With their lore, just the general fact that Zhongli went on to become/ pretend to be the very thing Guizhong had always loved is very beautiful to me.
As for specific inspirations, perhaps maybe the fic "Dijun, Dijun" by [the_chiefster] on AO3.
I really liked the way this author portrayed Guizhong and Zhongli's close relationship through major events and daily life. If I were to ever become a writer, I would reference this😆
Q: How does Guizhong and Zhongli’s characters help you explore creatively?
Before Guizhong had a design, I did a lot of fan interpretations of her to explore how I think she would look like. It was really fun to look at descriptions of her in game and imagine what kind of clothes she would wear and how she would act.
Second, I think the concept of Zhongli having had a very close companion whom he lost makes me want to explore how vulnerable he could be. Guili really cemented the fact that I like to explore and draw (and consume) tragic relationships. Q: How does Guizhong and Zhongli’s characters help you explore creatively?
I love how Guizhong is part of Liyue's forgotten history and left such a deep impression in Zhongli that she managed to influence his growth. Despite not being talked about much, she plays an undeniably important role in the story. This "ancient history" vibe that Guizhong gives off makes me want to draw classical paintings as her & Zhongli. The Kiss is one such ideas I had but I definitely will be making more! :)

Chapter 16 is, by pure coincidence, about halfway through the fic. I won't spoil it, but it just seemed fitting for such a major turning point. Other than that, Guizhong shows up in every single chapter of the fic, whether it's a name-drop or actual appearance.

Q: What was your inspiration in creating this piece, and how were you inspired to put Guizhong and Zhongli in this piece?
The inspiration from it comes mostly from other fan content of Guili, namely the various one-shots on AO3 and fanart & short comics from artists on Twitter. The rest comes from what we know of them in-game. Guizhong and Zhongli's personalities also come from fan content, since it's been widely agreed that Guizhong was the cheerful, excited one, and Zhongli was the serious, grumpy one.
There are two specific works that really left an impression on me when I first got into Guili - there's the “Treasure Found” one-shot by [ambivalent_vermillion] and the “Rex Victus” follow-up, as well as a comic by [Astruma] on Twitter where Guizhong talks about the Archon War with Zhongli and challenges them both to take over the other's responsibilities if one of them falls.
Q: How does Guizhong and Zhongli’s characters help you explore creatively?
I am a writer by trade, so I think both Guizhong and Zhongli are quite fascinating and unique characters, and their relationship is equally unique. Writing about them has definitely given me some thought about the kinds of relationship dynamics and characters I enjoy writing.
