Yeah in my case I thought lactaid just "didn't work" and then I found out I was getting sick bc of unrelated proteins (I'm still legitimately lactose intolerant but I can do officially branded lactose free stuff safely The "trace" amounts in regular cheeses still bugs me though)

LRT tbh I know the joke is that lactose intolerant people are always talking about it, but in the US people have no idea how common it is You can go to any gas station and buy like eighteen forms of antacid, but lactase is only at pharmacies or some grocery stores Milk and cheese is in EVERYTHING
