FBI has arrested another suspected co-conspirator linked to ShinyHunters, according to director Kash Patel. ShinyHunters is the extortion group that breached the FBI’s jobs portal and stole sensitive information belonging to nearly all FBI agents and job applicants.

Anthropic said that it is expanding Project Glasswing, the program that gives vetted cybersecurity professionals access to its advanced AI models. The company said its Project Glasswing identified at least 129,000 verified software vulnerabilities between April and July 2026.

On Thursday, unknown attackers took control of Microsoft’s official X account, which has more than 13 million followers, to promote a crypto token. Microsoft later deleted the attackers’ posts and confirmed the account takeover, saying it is investigating how the incident occurred.

Dutch authorities have confirmed the arrest of a 24-year-old Amsterdam man in connection with the ShinyHunters cybercrime group. The arrest comes after ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for breaching the FBI and stealing terabytes of sensitive data.

Two vulnerabilities in PaperCut NG and MF print management software are now being used by attackers in data theft campaigns. PaperCut software is used by millions of people across thousands of organizations. The flaws are tracked as CVE-2026-81578 and CVE-2026-82078.

U.S. authorities have seized domains tied to two China-linked hacking platforms, QScan and QTRouter, which were used to target federal agencies, the military, and critical infrastructure. The infrastructure has been linked to QTFY, a state-sponsored cyber threat group.
