Themrock (1973)

This is def giving me Bond henchmen couple.
Mr Beast and James Patterson both are wearing all black and Mr Beast is smiling and clasping his hands as if he's about to welcome Mr Bond. Paterson looks like he's not quite sure what is happening.

Well that and fight scenes. And the odd chase.
Quote from "Kazuo Ishiguro, My Twentieth Century Evening and
Other Small Breakthroughs" where the following text is highlighted: But in the end, stories are about one person saying to another: 'This is the way it feels to me. Can you understand what I'm saying? Does it also feel this way to you?'

Not happy about the new Dr Who
An British icon that was once beloved but probably should have been put out to grass years ago or at least drastically updated (Prince Charles stepping out of the Tardis and waving)

Hockney was one of those artists who I only really got when I saw his work in an actual gallery. Remember standing for a while in front of Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy in Birmingham when it was on tour and A Bigger Splash in the Tate. Proper art.
Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy - A painting of a couple in there flat, either side of window with partially open shutters. The woman is standing the man is sitting with a white cat on his lap. A Bigger Splash - a pop art painting featuring a house and swimming pool with a large splash of water caused by an unseen person who has dived off a diving board.

To be honest, back in the day, if a low budget near-future dystopia sf movie's blurb had started with "The year is 2026. The president is an ex-game show host. He organises unarmed combat bouts in front of the White House..." I definitely would have watched it.

I inherited a fan like this from my parents... it's supposed to be a desk fan but it's like 16'' so it's not getting on my desk anytime soon. Anyway it does the job. It's basically like crack as once it's on I can't turn it off or the room instantly becomes an oven again only worse.

And people wonder why comics are dying... just put this into an AI detector and it scored 100%
Someone holding up the back of a Batman comic / book. There's a shirt guy with numerous bandages and plasters on his arms, back, chest and face. He holds a cloak / costume, looking down on it. He's lit in tones of blue with the bandages / plasters in bright orange. Text: BATMAN: DARK PATTERNS IS A SERIES OF FOUR SELF-CONTAINED, STREET-LEVEL MYSTERIES THAT DELVE INTO THE EARLY DAYS OF BATMAN'S ROLE IN GOTHAM CITY AND HIS HEALING PRESENCE WITHIN ITS STREETS.
This grounded, mystery-driven narrative evokes the rich tone and style of beloved classics such as Batman: Year One, The Long Halloween, and Hush. Penned by the talented Dan Watters and brought to life through the striking artistry of Hayden Sherman, each three-part story stands alone as a gripping detective case, shedding light on the trauma and resilience of Gotham's citizens and its urban landscape.
The series masterfully underscores Batman's dual identity as a methodical sleuth and a shadowy beacon of hope, skillfully steering clear of cosmic or supernatural distractions. This intentional focus reassures readers of a steadfast commitment to a more authentic, detective-driven experience, highlighting relatable mysteries that brilliantly showcase the Dark Knight as a healer cloaked in darkness.

Look how they massacred my boy!
Comparison between the original and updated versions of the Doctor Who story The Warriors of the Deep featuring the Myrka, a reptilian monster. Whilst the updated version is scarier and better like it lakes the charm of original despite it being totally ridiculous, using a costume that fell to bits on set and was operated by two guys who normally performed as a pantomime horse.

I'm sure the Bowies were a real thing and no just something some booze-sozzled hack made up off the top of his head to fill up space. (Daily Mirror 1980)
Guide to the cults
SKINHEADS: Have convict- style cropped hair and wear bovver boots. Dance the Moonstomp to reggae music. Enjoy fighting.
MODS: Very clean. Wear mohair suits, ride scooters and enjoy Tamla Motown music.
BOWIES: Imitate David Bowie in dress and musical taste.
RUDE BOYS: Wear pork pie hats and trilbys. Follow ska music. Some are enthusiastic vandals.
PUNKS: Out to shock through their appearance and behaviour. Have anarchist leanings.
ROOTS BOYS: West Indian- based movement. Smart dressers, good dancers, and anti-police.

A white wall with fancy coving in an Irish pub featuring well rendered black and white art of Ozzie Osborne, Prince - I think, George Micheal - I guess, it could be Simon Cowell, Amy Winehouse and Shane MacGowan. They are all - except George - holding up pints of Guinness. There's also a guitar on the ceiling and some sort of artwork feature '1980' and the Rolling Stones.
