One of the funniest things of selfhosting several servers is naming them. As I am a huge football (the good football) fan, I name them after footballers. My best one right now I'd say is Ronaldinho, in my mind that's the server where the magic happens.

An amazing thing about self-hosting and having decent backup plan is how easy it is to restructure your whole homelab. Do I want a new VM with PDS + Bsky AppView? I just migrate the config folders. Do I want to move Jellyfin to a new miniPC because of the QSV? Done in 3 minutes.

Hey! Which third-party appview are you using? Is it selfhosted by any chance or is it deer.social or sth like that?

And not like that's the only example. You can search for "PiS links to Russia" and have a very good time reading. Some happened after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in Feb 2022, but definitely all happened after Crimean annexion in 2014, when the situation was already "we're at war".

100

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 20/08/2025

That's not actually true (?) www.euractiv.com/section/poli... We're talking about events happening while Russia already had attacked Ukraine in Feb 2022. Also, do not forget PiS has been openly anti-European. Unlukcily for them. EU pays a shitton of money to Poland. Otherwise they'd be gone from EU

PiS party’s investigation into Russian interference may be used against them - Euractiv

The commission established by the ruling PiS party to investigate Russian links to former Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government may be used against PiS once Tusk returns to power, Polish media reported on Wednesday. The commission that was meant to...

There is a quite clear division in Russia opinion for the two big blocks of Polish politics imo. While KO is openly against Russia, PiS is verbally against Russia, but privately quite pro-Russian. Konferedacja is just the result of Russia interference in Europan Politics. PiS + Konfederacja...

Set up a Telegram bot (does this count as text message?) and create a workflow to send you a notification. Then mark that workflow as “error workflow” in the settings of the workflow you want to be notified about.

000

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 11/08/2025

I don't think it's misreporting. I believe it counts the cached RAM inside the VM, which Proxmox does not care about and detects as used RAM?

Es increíble que este panfleto siga existiendo.

Then I guess, just as Bluesky got the requirement of UK government to ask for ID, you could, as personal administrator of your PDS, be required the same to keep accessing your PDS from UK networks? Idk, not an expert but I think it might be sth like that

@gsuscs.xyz · 05/07/2025

I mean, for me it all comes down to how separated you want your stuff. With what you wrote, I’d say Debian and Docker containers is more than enough. You want to have HA, play with virtualization and so on? Then go for Proxmox

„Centrist” is a very relative term, tho

010

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 26/05/2025

and while I understand that it's hard to promote changes with such a heterogeneous coalition, it is very obvious that a lot of voters are sceptical of what they will do if they get the presidency next Sunday.

010

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 26/05/2025

I would definitely not vote for any of those. It's is not MY responsibility to vote for somebody that I do not agree with. Instead, it is THEIR responsibility to provide and implement measures that will please their voters. PO has had almost 2 years already to do so while in a big coalition, +

110

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 26/05/2025

My problem with these type of opinons generally is that the focus is pointed at left voters not voting for the "less evil" candidate instead of pointing it at the less evil candidate/party to become a not-evil candidate/party. I personally cannot vote in Poland even tho I live here, but if I could,+

Yeah, gotta give you that. I discovered it long time ago, self-hosted it and just tinkered with it. As that might be your impression, I gotta say that by self-hosting it without reading their website you’d get a „this has no AI at all” feeling 100%. I’m not sure how it is if you host in their cloud

000

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 05/05/2025

I’m not sure which „AI crap tied to it” you mean, but I do self host it and there’s no AI crap (?). As Bluesky is based on ATProto and that’s open, there are a couple of community repositories with Bluesky nodes that allow you to execute several actions. Not sure about Mastodon but I’d assume same

What I wonder is if „foreign administrations” will have any will of cooping with newer US administrations given that in any moment another brainless monkey like this one can be elected and undo everything once again

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 03/05/2025

I love it when people do great pieces of software. If you’re looking for a tool to sync files between devices, take a look at Syncthing. I’ve been using it to sync my Football Manager and Oxygen Not Included saves between my main PC and my laptop and it works flawlessly. #selfhosted

For most than half of the second half, we’ve been able to see very little on the court of Legia because of the flares. PZPN treats their product and the fans as a fucking joke and there are no consequences for them.

At this point we all know the valid option is the first one - there are no EU consequences for anti-EU politics from EU members that are serious enough for these countries to stop applying these politics.

Bueno, pues claramente hasta aquí ha dado el equipo este año. Bastante más de lo que se podría haber pensado en algunos momentos, sobre todo al principio. Para el año que viene, falta talento arriba y un par de cambios.

Well, to start a miniPC can work very well. You can get some in AliExpress for less than 100$. For the DNS, look at ddclient. It retrieves your public IP every X minutes and updates it in your registrar so you don’t have to worry about the IP changing whenever you revoot your router.

000

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 20/03/2025

I also think it’s a way of over-complicating my setup. Currently it’s running like Debian on host -> Docker -> a bunch of containers. With this new setup it would look like Proxmox on host -> bunch of VMs -> Docker -> bunch of containers. Looks like adding an unnecessary layer to me.

000

Jesús. @gsuscs.xyz · 20/03/2025

That’s helpful, mate! Really appreciate that! In that case I’ll need to read more, I know there are meaningful differences between Proxmox LVM, LVM-thin and directories, so I’d need to check if it fits my needs! Thanks again!
