I’m a cyclist, in Halifax, that bikes most of the year for errands around the peninsula. The weather between here IS NOT that similar to Copenhagen. Please don’t exaggerate. Our variability is much more extreme, and this doesn’t account for snowfall. Source: weatherspark.com

Winter temperature averages in Halifax showing an average low of -8C and an average high of 0C in January

Average temperature in Copenhagen showing an average low of -1C and high of 2C

Traffic flows like steam, not water.

I, for one, am willing to go on an expedition to find this control panel. xkcd.com/3285/

The late Triassic rifting was caused by a dinosaur trying to use the control panel to escape a predator, but it was eaten before the continent could fully separate.

The NS columnist Parker Donham aka Kempthead blocked me today, and I will wear it as a badge of honour. This is the post that appears to have decided that this grumpy Bluenoser is not worth his time. bsky.app/profile/grum...

Parker Donham aka kempthead has blocked me because I think we should always promote multi-modal transportation over driver-first.

An old British poster that feels relevant here in Halifax today. Raul would be really awesome, but even a functioning bus transit system is better than more cars. #halifax #transit #hrmbudget

A British railways poster from the 1960s depicting a London full of highways with the tagline “There is an alternative to commuting by rail. But could we live with it?”

This reminds me of this video. Even a broken clock can be right twice a day, but that doesn’t make it a good clock.

The render distance was set for low today. . . . I’ve been playing too much Minecraft. #halifaxfog

If you haven't listened to Sarah Harmer before, today is a great day to check her out on Bandcamp; or just buy her CDs on her website (like I did).

Sarah Harmer did the very brave and important action of removing her music from a platform that does not align with her principles; something I would love to see more artists do. www.instagram.com/p/DN0YHgZYglC/

I've been out to check out puffins off the coast here in NS (Pearl Island) a couple times, but have only ever seen them on the water. I really want to get a couple nice shots on land.

Don't support JK Rowling and make sure your favourite artists that do get the shaming they deserve. There are much better magical worlds out there. Harry Potter isn't worth your attention.
