A question for photographers - do you have a way of getting critiques or feedback on your photos? Is it important to you? Can it help you develop your skills, choose what to share or enter into a competition? Or do you have enough confidence to assess your own work? And here's 1 of mine for you.

A monochrome high-contrast architecture photograph of the "cheese grater" in Sheffield city centre, UK. A simulated long-exposure sky has been implemented in post-processing.

#minimal #monochrome #square of Penmon lighthouse at high tide on a very #grey day.

A minimalist long exposure of Penmon lighthouse in Wales. The shot was taken at high tide on a very grey day and is presented as a square crop in black and white. The scene is limited to the foreground sea, a couple of rocks and the lighthouse centrally placed. The horizon has been blended with the sky to further simplify the scene.

Over 50 years ago I used to climb the rocks at Stanage Edge in the Peak District. Today I returned for the first time, but with a bag of camera gear instead of climbing gear. Sunset was just about alright!

Spending a couple of days with a friend in Sheffield. So with a promising forecast I headed to Higger Tor this morning. This is the KitKat stones just after sunrise. Taken with my Google Pixel 9.

Most of my creative architecture stuff is in black and white but I thought I'd try this one - another shot of the Gehry development in Battersea - in full colour. What do you think?

Prospect Place, a development of two blocks of apartments designed in an interesting style, rather like a hive, by Frank Gehry. This is presented in full colour with a sky edited to simulate a long exposure.

And here's a closer look at those super stacked bays windows. It really is a fantastic building.

Next up is the fabulous Prospect Place, directly behind Battersea Power Station this twin block was designed by Gehry. I want to call it the human hive. #architecture #monochrome #photography #london

Back to my architecture project this week and a trip to Nine Elms in South London where I found this interesting building. #monochrome #architecture #creative #photography

A monochrome photo of a tall slim building with a distinctive corner similar to the Flatiron building in New York. The view is upward and the perspective is pronounced. The background is a simulated long-exposure sky.

Just a post for #throwbackthursday. A coastal shot from way back - when we were walking the dog on Pett Level beach near Hastings, UK.

Sharp Contrast. This is one of the many creative/wacky bits of imagery I make by photographing odd things in my studio/garage. #StillLife

A still life photo of a lemon with two cubes (one grey textured like concrete and one larger blue polystyrene). Difficult to describe!

Wishing you all a peaceful year in 2025.

Long exposure, minimal seascape showing a wooden groin running diagonally into the picture. A marker post with a seabird sitting on it is in the distance and soft pastel colours of dawn light the sea and sky.

I love to portray a sense of calm and tranquility in my photos and one of my favourites from earlier this year is this peaceful evening scene shot on the south coast.

A small rowing dinghy tethered to a post at sunset in a calm sea. The water reflects blue sky and white clouds and warm sunlight filters in from top right to illuminate the little boat.

I seem to have got into the habit of shooting architecture - some smart, some abandoned and shabby. These are all in Slough, Berkshire, UK
