caught this yellow-haired sun fly (Myathropa florea) expelling some kind of excrement(?) on a leaf and then I believe she might have been depositing eggs in the soil. quite beautiful! #hoverflies #diptera #syrphidae #macrophotography #macro #insectphotography #insects #bugsky

Campyloneura virgula I picked off of my potato plant and went to find my camera thinking it was a weirdly fast aphid. my mistake she bit me and left a tiny welt on my hand. very cute but i learned my lesson ^^' #insects #macrophotography #truebugs #miridae #bugs

I think at some point ill get a little bit more picky about composition and the art part of photography but for now im mostly interested in insect (and arachnid) ID and finding species unknown to me around me

some ants that scattered when I mistakenly disturbed them lifting up a brick #insectphotography #insects #ants #macro #photography

:P decided to make an account to dump photos, forgive any blurry or badly balanced light in photos- the macro lens is an adjustment. eventually i will learn image stacking but in the meantime its cool to capture bugs i see around me
