Always has been. It's just usually been Latin American, Middle Eastern, and South East Asian democracies they directly target.

This demo cannot win you an election but bigotry is not the thing they want done. They want uber shut down and replaced with old style taxis. They want a Ross Perot style chart for the economy. I don't know if Dems know this and want an excuse for bigotry, or if they're genuinely stupid.

The voter they describe wanting in demographics and profession is almost literally my dad, but then for some reason they propose things he'd never want. The imagined centrist voter makes up no more than 1% of the population and wants you to explain your budget and enforce the law on businesses.

The books they claim to not exist are like the primary genre of book discussed by Man Carrying Thing. The book youtuber you probably best know for his shorts making fun of movie studios. He's somehow able to find and talk about twelve new hardboiled detective books every 3 months and never runs out.

Well yeah, but identifying the specifics of the fetish are important to making sense for the work as a whole. One cannot fully appreciate a work until they understand its motive and vibe.

It is extremely bizarre for someone to get mad at a show from a specific region for highlighting how that region is fucked up. Doubly so to get mad in a way that suggests one thinks the show somehow endorses the highlighted issue, even when said issue exclusively causes harm for the characters.

No that's literally just a common wealth thing, because you for some reason don't associate public the term public in an institution's name with it being for the public good. Just like driving on the wrong side of the road you're the weirdos.

So my fanfiction is just as valid as the extra-biblical sources portraying Lilith as eventually becoming the angel of death's nagging wife.

Maybe I've missed some but it feels like all Celtic names are related to the demon god. His descendants, items made from him, or people mutated by him.

Yeah I don't want to spoil anything if you haven't finished Act 1, but I don't think it'd really be possible to make a full video essay on Fabio's racism without mentioning the game's obvious stance on it, and his eventual character resolution.

It's actually relatively consistent in skin tones per location, with the understanding that it's within a functional Rome-esque empire and that all the gods are dragons wearing human suits. Most people are tan, people get darker as you go further south.

I'd say don't seek a big media presence to begin with. If your presence can be retraumatizing to someone for reasons that are entirely your fault. Then it's your responsibility to minimize that possibility. Making a youtube video or getting on tv is the opposite of showing that care.

I don't remember it being applied to RE until later, when the conversation spread to playing female characters generally, and staring at ass was already a part of verbal shorthand. A lot of this was also tied up in the homophobia in the discussion of MGS2.

This may be me being too video game old fogey, but I can remember the genesis of this conversation being games where you genuinely do spend a lot of time looking at people's asses as a result of the camerawork. Specifically how much of MGS was staring at Snake or Raiden's butt vs Tombraider.

I cannot force anyone to get therapy and make amends, not am I under any obligation to take the perpetrator's word that they're doing so in private willingly.

Restorative justice is a philosophy for how systems of power utilize force on those who break their rules. Acting like it is in any way an obligation of individuals within that society to associate with and aid the perpetrator is absurd.

Something they do in government controlled rehab, and businesses and social groups are still free to refuse to work with the criminal. One can be owed a right to exist as a free citizen within a society, but they do not have a right to other people's association or a media presence.

The Norwegian justice system has nothing to do with social or business shunning and public ostracization. That still happens there, it's literally just the legal system that's different. Norwegian jail would be significantly more retribution than Geller has seen.

I think the extremely low quality of the racist present day mod compared to its popularity says way more about the player base than grouping it with Kaiserreich and TNO. As those two mods are honestly less friendly to Germany than base HOI4. The base game already indulges in clean Wehrmacht

There is doing what we can to make him disappear, and that's good. Too many people seem to think wanting someone to not have a public media presence is somehow equivalent to killing/imprisoning them. No one has a right to a popular youtube channel or being a media presence.

The actual sad thing is that those people in the modern day have to get jobs, and can't just sit around a monastery all day thinking about demons. DBZ powerscalers yearn for the scriptorium but an evil society makes them work retail.

Your comment on anglosphere 50s scifi reminded me that we cannot understate how much harm John Campbell did to American scifi. All popular scifi in the country had to go through one magazine, and that magazine's editor was a fascist.

Disney's assembly line ensures this always happens. It's also happening with every Marvel movie as we speak. They have invented the dumbest way to make movies and convinced themselves that was the reason they got billion dollar blockbusters.

People have shown pretty definitely that this didn't happen based on script timeline. JJ just had the same reaction as the worst parts of the fandom completely organically by himself. He was writing retcons before the public saw Episode 8. The hater was coming from inside the house.

It's the same way that buying food direct from small farms gets you better food, for cheaper, with less animal cruelty, from better compensated workers, and with lower environmental impact. The factory farm and central distribution model only benefiting the owner class.

The American model of contracting and outsourcing doesn't benefit anyone except for people profiting off short term stock trades. It's better for employees and employers to just have actual full time employees if the employer primarily makes money from selling a product, rather than stock hijinks.

Yes, but also just in general in-house effects teams are long term more cost efficient than outsourcing to separate effects houses to make a film. They're cheaper on a quarter to quarter budget but you end up wasting a lot of money resourcing and drawing up new agreements with new companies.

Though obviously the best of both worlds would be working for a European company where you're paid comparably to the US but also can't get laid off like a US dev.

Most people have a mix of federal and private loans, and two times zero from every period of unemployment is still zero. Every period of unemployment is also a period where you are receiving no pay increases compared to the Japanese dev. Every single cost in America is also higher

Godzilla Minus One effects people were paid less than in-house teams, but the overwhelming majority of American cgi is not done by in-house teams.

grubbins.bsky.social @grubbins.bsky.social · 20/09/2026
Per hour they actually paid more on Godzilla Minus One specifically than a lot of effects teams. American effects studios are paid a fixed amount not per hour, and are usually run into debt with reshoot demands. Hence things like movies winning awards after the effects team fully folds.
