This reminded me that back when I led the js4shiny.com workshop at #RStudioConf2020, I made a little easter egg app for the course if you click on the hex logo on the site. It was a little hex sticker memory game inspired by a Shiny app by the dreamRs team

I'm a fan of `npx skills add`, but I also made a small similar wrapper in btw: `btw skills install`. There's also `btw_skill_install_github()` and related functions you can call from R: posit-dev.github.io/btw/dev/refe...
A screenshot of the `btw skills install` help text for the btw CLI tool. "Install a skill from a package or GitHub repository. Usage `btw skills install [OPTIONS] <source>`"

This is a really neat idea but I'll never remember the commands, so I created a little `git-recon` bash script that runs them in series, complete with some ascii bar plots. gist.github.com/gadenbuie/46...
The "Commit timing" portion of the script. Shows commit counts by hour and day as two separate ASCII bar plots.

Happy holidays! 🎄 I snuck in a {btw} release just before CRAN went on vacation for the year. {btw} is an #RStats package full of tools for LLMs, including a new tool for running R code. Here's a quick demo using `btw_app()` to create a quick festive ggplot2 from holiday movie titles. Cheers! 🧑‍🎄

For months I've had a pesky message that shows up in my #RStats test logs and today I realized I can figure out exactly where it's coming from with testthat's location reporter Rscript -e 'devtools::test(reporter = "location")' 2>&1 | tee test.log
Logs from testing with the location reporter. The logs show the location of each expectation, and the message "You found me!" where an unexpected `message()` was emitted between lines 20 and 24 of test-btw_client.R

You arrive at a text input and start typing. Would you rather 1️⃣ Press Enter to submit your text 2️⃣ Press Enter to add a new line

ggplot2 4.0.0 is out and the new `paper`, `ink`, `accent` theme variables look super cool! Just pick 2-3 colors 🎨 to make your plots look great! I'm excited to hook this up to brand.yml 😉
A ggplot2 plot showing a classic `mpg` scatter plot. The code uses `theme_gray()` with `paper = "cornstalk"` for a light yellow background, `ink = "navy"` for navy blue text and points, and `accent = "tomato"` which is applied to the smoothing line created with `geom_smooth()`

they all try to say “this is a bad idea” in the way llms do but gemini didn’t pull any punches
3. Calculate Required Tariff (Ignoring Economics):
• If you assume, very unrealistically, that a tariff directly reduces the value of imports by a corresponding percentage (which it doesn't
- it increases the price), you could try:
Required Reduction % = Deficit_x / Value of Imports from X

I did have a blast looking through old geocities sites for inspo. I'm pretty sure I used this BRWNPAPR.jpeg background in my myspace profile one time
A screenshot of a chaotic "stop java.com" home page. Featuring clip art of a trash can overlaid on the Java log along with quotes like "I'd rather go baremetal than virtualize" and "THINK! What's YOUR RAM footprint?".A guestbook form with a visitor counter at the bottom. The page has a repeated crinkled brown paper background and features a "you are visitor #" visitor counter claiming you're visitor #4553 in green digits on a black background"Why data footprint" in large red print on a repeated matrix style background. Yellow boxes with harsh red contrast text say things like "big data - big waste!" and "small data, big insights"The blog page, which claims to be under construction. A dancing banana gif distracts you while you wait for a blog that is never coming.

Did you know #Shiny has a developer mode that turns on auto-reloading, an in-app error console and more? #RStats
In R, set `options(shiny.devmode = TRUE)` in your .Rprofile or call `shiny::devmode(TRUE)`. In Python, use `shiny run` with the `--dev-mode` flag.
