As a teenager in Seattle, Callaghan was moved by the killing of John T. Williams, a 55-year-old deaf Native American woodcarver, by a Seattle police officer, into protesting and joining a black bloc group. From there, Callaghan became an anarchist and began reading material from authors such as Emma Goldman, Angela Davis, and Ruth Wilson Gilmore. Later in life, Callaghan moved away from the anarchist viewpoint, stating that he "grew up to realize how incompatible that anarchistic worldview is with reality and with American society. It can only exist in a small, little chamber. You can't apply that to the industrial heartland of the country".

While Callaghan no longer identifies as an anarchist, he has stated he supports radical prison reform and values elements of prison abolitionist theory.

In a 2022 interview, Callaghan stated that he supports Black liberation and critiques what he calls "white liberalism" in cities like Seattle, where he feels progressive rhetoric masks gentrification and rent-gouging that displaces marginalized communities

Winter (& blonde) look; I love these again (PJ equivalent) stretchy pants that have an exposed seam down the front pant leg and it looks chic without comprising comfort + my go to thrifted Docs I’ve had for almost 10 years and top & coat were also 2nd hand quality fabric vintage finds

All thrifted/2nd hand pieces, I love wearing 2nd hand clothes for the purpose of the clothes being “broken in” and vintage clothes are often better quality needed for work. Fit: brown and grey speckled 90’s slouch neck jersey knit top, vintage Italian wool coat, exposed seem espresso brown pants from Target, vintage Docs workwear shoes, thrifted fortune cookie bag

Referencing this part here just stating it’s not the actual reality for a *majority* of US workers (as a whole, US born or not) and that both those numbers are far higher than even the national average (closer to $7-12)

You’d look amazing in these fits!!! The flower pattern reminds me of a motif Big Bud uses in their clothes often! It’s like modern versions with 70’s influence (but a ton of their designs are all based on vintage 70s workwear in the first place too)
