grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 17/02/2025I ran a home-brewed megadungeon campaign about 10 years ago. I want to say it lasted for a few years. I never mapped past the first level, but the first level was *sprawling.* I'm working on a new megadungeon now and I hope this will be my most successful campaign yet! 010
grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Something the Gray Goblin Warrens taught me is that just because I know a common feature of a common monster (trolls regenerate) doesn't mean that my players do. I thought they would just know to burn the troll; they didn't & ended up locking its head in a chest. campaignwiki.org/1pdc/2009/Ch...campaignwiki.org 010
grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 16/01/2025The Grey Goblin Warrens are sprawling and will almost certainly take multiple sessions. There's a dragon. And a troll. And traps and ambushes and more. campaignwiki.org/1pdc/2009/Ch...campaignwiki.org 010
grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 16/01/2025The Triune Labyrinth of Insane Mutations: campaignwiki.org/1pdc/2010/Jo... I really like how this dungeon plays with elevation. It took some extra effort to understand how to run it, and it makes it a bit more linear than I like, but I think it is very much worth it.campaignwiki.org 010
grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 16/01/2025These two are just really solid, dense, Jaquaysed, dungeons that make excellent go-to modules. campaignwiki.org/1pdc/2009/Se... campaignwiki.org/1pdc/2009/St... grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 16/01/2025There are traps, puzzles, and even potential social encounters with the dragon and trolls. 010
grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 16/01/2025What I like about it: 1) It is Jaquaysed. Multiple entrances, multiple choices about where to go. 2) Lots of "classic" monsters. I think a lot of D&D players only know about some of the classics but haven't actually encountered them. 3) It isn't just monsters… 000

grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 30/12/2024I love that LotFP encourages creating new monsters the players have never encountered before. The essay in the Random Esoteric Creature Generator is gold… and it's really labor-intensive to come up with new monsters and use them only once. I do really like the generators in the RECG and Carcosa! 110
grognardling.bsky.social @grognardling.bsky.social · 30/12/2024Wow. I've never heard of these. They look amazing! And… they are pricy nowadays. They sound like amazing inspiration for roleplaying adventures. 000

Artistically, it's very pleasing (these here are the inhabitants of the Grey Fortress). The text is for the most part, but some pages that would've been hard to read were replaced with printed text. Dozens of pages of useful random tables. /1 31820
