Pretty much my entire life my relation with the West of the state is that of a lucky vacationer getting to bask in the natural beauty of "up north", a very different world than that of those who actually live and work in the area.

It does become more of a yuppy lib hellscape every day, but certainly in the past and at least a bit today fostered a lot of what I feel is relatively valuable culture. The proximity to Detroit also helps one feel less like they are trapped in and beige black hole where diversity goes to die

I can't help but have some affection for Michigan and perhaps a naive coping feeling that it has just a some unique and valuable qualities among the homogeny of the Midwest. However I was born and raised in Ann Arbor and the chance that skewed my view of the state is high

Peter really hit me. I've only been in the transformers fandom for a couple years but it saved my best friends life as a teen. For every stupid shallow toy commercial bit of the transformers franchise there is an equally beautiful, thoughtful and deep story, and he was a huge part of all of it

If I was taking this argument seriously I would probably say that the horses used by indigenous people in america are feral descendants of the horses brought by the Spanish, and not related to the native horses of NA that went extinct many thousands of years before so it doesn't count or something 😂

E) Horses are animals and have no agency in what they are used for. I think you could have endless philosophical debate about the use of animals as tools of violence, and how this violates their autonomy along with the rights of those they are used against

C) Horseback riding evolved in multiple cultures over basically the entirety of the European,Asian and African continents. One of the most famous cultures obviously was Mongolian but I have this sneaking suspicion Genghis Khan doesn't fit this totally serious definition of colonizer

Now the shortening of the days is exaggerated because we still have stupid ass daylight savings time so even though our latitude is about the same as southern France it will still get dark at like 4:30-5 pm in December because we lose an hour

I live in the southern part of a northern state. Days absolutely get shorter here in the winter, the longest day of the year is June 21st and then the days begin to shorten until the shortest day of the year on December 21st, then begin to lengthen again.

Pine is great, and some companies make it not pelleted because cats are quite particular Some other alternatives: Hinoki wood (smaller pellets) Grass litter Walnut shells Wheat litter corn litter cassava litter Of course these range a lot in price, pine is probably the best deal
