LSC recommends Megan R for co chair NPC David J C.S. Jackson Byron L

“Comrades C.S. Jackson, Byron Lopez, and David Jenkins, guided by the patriots of the Spanish revolution, unite in solidarity with Megan Romer of Red Star to form a revolutionary popular front.”

I’d serve the NPC as a principled facilitator of member work, dedicated to the complementary ecology of tactics thriving in the many niches of DSA. If you’re a delegate & want to find a time to chat / ask Q’s before Convention, pls DM or hit me up: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

I’ve done field work for a dozen electoral/legislative campaigns, am a veteran Red Rabbit, and been very involved in NYC-DSA's Anti-War WG for nearly 21 months of escalating horror. I’ve learned many hard lessons in DSA & have tried to distill my story: discussion.dsausa.org/t/let-this-r...

I helped found the Flatbush Branch of NYC-DSA, and served on the first OC as Campaign Coordinator, wearing many hats. I wrote & led a branch campaign that kickstarted our weekly tabling, connected tenant legislation & organizing, and srsly pissed off our State Senator: x.com/FlatbushDSA/...

David holding a handful of signed petition postcards, the front of which reads: “Senator Kevin Parker: The Rent Is Too Damn High” in front of the Senator’s office, which has been plastered with hundreds of postcards bearing messages from tenants.

A close-up shot of a bag of hundreds of signed petitions hanging on the redecorated office door with a note: “This is only a small portion of the petitions. We’re just getting started!!”

A group of people taping up the array of colorful petition postcards and tenant messages to Senator Kevin Parker’s office exterior. One of their faces is obscured by a laughing emoji.

With the help of DSA members, facing persistent sewage floods, I re-organized my building & helped start a fledgling local tenant union. My TA’s had many wins & even put NYPD on blast; sadly, I’m now being sued for eviction for asserting my rights. (See you 8/5 @ court!) x.com/HellGateNY/s...

After J6 and my experience as an antifascist on the ground in D.C. that day, I threw myself into every DSA project I could. The potential complementarity of work & catalytic member-led organizing formed a vision of DSA I still hold today even as my politics have evolved. x.com/bizarrojenkz...

That summer I found my organizing home in the Racial Justice WG and the #DefundNYPD campaign. I helped research, lobby, table, testify, hold community convos, do protests, mutual aid & had my ass hauled out of City Hall more than a few times. An organizing crucible. x.com/nycdsarjwg/s...

I joined DSA in 2020 after meeting ‪NYC-DSA members in SC on a road-trip volunteering for Bernie & working remotely. I hit 6 states before COVID left me stranded on the road for a week. I returned to a lockdown + an uprising & began to seriously organize. (sry for X links! 😅) x.com/grillc0v3r/s...

A proud lifelong New Yorker, I’m an artist & professional mime (yes, really: brokenboxmime.com) making ends meet through legal transcription and court reporting work. My politics have been shaped by the dueling legacies of my Southern WASP and NYC socialist Jewish heritages.

A bearded bespectacled white man with long hair pulled into a bun wearing a white t-shirt (David), lit under stage lights, is shown given directions to mime collaborators (out of costume). Slightly out of focus, we see the back of one person wearing red, orange, and purple in the foreground, and in the background a white woman with a pixie cut stands watching David.

Five people pose briefly in the street at a march for Abolition and Housing Justice in NYC. David, left, is wearing a gray t-shirt, backpack, with hair pulled back and a Housing Justice For All mask. One woman in tank top and shorts holds a handmade “Defund the NYPD” sign.

A recent photo of David sitting in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, with medium-length hair, glasses, and a casual patterned white button-up. He’s got a small smile and is just chilling, surrounded by trees, grass, and a blue sky. Small groups of people can be seen in the distance.

Photo circa 1880’s of David’s earliest ancestors to move to NYC on his Jewish side. A dour old man (Isaac) with a long twin-pointed beard and cap sits beside his smiling standing wife (Rebecca) in front of hung laundry, chicken coop, and small farmhouse somewhere in historic Flatbush / Southeast Brooklyn (we think).

I haven’t ever posted here, but with the @demsocialists.bsky.social Convention coming up, and since I’m running for National Political Committee on the @dsa-lsc.org slate, I wanted to introduce myself to members outside of NYC! & don’t miss my candidate app: discussion.dsausa.org/t/npc-candid...
