Ingredients
• 2 2/3 c. sugar
• 2/3 c. shortening
• 4 eggs, beaten
• 1 16oz can pumpkin
• 2/3 c. water
• ½ tspn. baking powder
• 2 tspn. soda
• 1 ½ tspn. salt
• 1 tspn. cinnamon
• ½ tspn. ground cloves
• 2/3 c. chopped nuts
• 2/3 c. chopped dates
• 3 1/3 c. flour
0. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
1. Cream sugar and shortening until light & fluffy.
2. Stir in eggs, pumpkin, & water.
3. [In a separate bowl] Sift together dry ingredients.
4. Gradually stir in dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture.
5. Add nuts and dates.
6. Blend well.
7. Turn batter into 2 greased 9x5x2 in bread pans.
