I think this is an elitist take b/c 38% of Americans over 25 have a high school education -or less. These folks are not inventing iPhones or any of the other things identified in your article. Good union wage mfg jobs are needed. One Dem failure has been hand outs instead of good paid jobs.

What is concerning me is that she died from a disease easily treatable with antibiotics- unless this particular strain isn’t. Was this bacteria modified in some way to make it antibiotic resistant?

Please look into why the USPS has stopped postmarking mail that is dropped into boxes at local post offices and instead sends them to a central processing facility to be postmarked later - sometimes days later. Do not drop your ballot into a mailbox anytime close to election day! @markey.senate.gov

$90 would pay for less than 5% of my annual Medicare Pt B premium and zero % of the $9600 annual cost of our Medicare supplement policy. Donate the money to a Democrat running in a competitive district and VOTE. Then impeach and indict him and his entire corrupt, crime family.

The legislative branch needs to claw back management of all programs to which it allocates funding. There is no Constitutional barrier to locating these agencies within the legislative branch.

When they don't have to write an opinion, they don't even need to rationalize it in their own minds. The way this Court has used the "shadow docket" is an abomination of justice and an affront to our legal system. As a lawyer who came up back in the day, this Court's actions are just unfathomable.

The model, expected to appear in ChatGPT and Codex, was designed to handle more complex tasks without human assistance, the report said. Continue reading...

Isn't one issue whether dishonest brokers fraudulently signed people up for no cost insurance plans just to get a commission? If these aren't real people, then there's no harm in removing "them". The problem is that the GOP is making this sound like insurance fraud by consumers rather by businesses.

Unfortunately 30% of us still think this is all just fine. Really don't know what we do about those people. There are lessons to be learned from post war Germany & Japan, and post apartheid South Africa. Absolute defeat is the first essential component of restoration.

What hotel are you in? There are several 24 hour convenience stores (which are way better than US convenience stores, think more like mini grocery stores) probably w/in a couple blocks of your hotel if you are in downtown Reykjavik. Reykjavik is very safe to walk around even at night.

He is calling it a military facility and necessary for national defense to try and avoid legal oversight. Courts give Presidents broad discretion on national defense matters - see for example the East Wing.

This how he's going to avoid legal oversight by claiming the Arch is a military facility needed for national defense and therefore legally within the sole discretion of the President and legally unreviewable.

Given what we've done to the environment and our failure to address climate change, can't help but wonder what an unconstrained AI might do to unhesitatingly assert the "primacy" of the natural world over the "constructs of human civilization."
010
Greywulff @greywulff.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Can we just be clear that it is not the AI making mistakes. It is those who are developing and programming the AI software who are unable to forsee the consequences of their programming. They don't understand what they're doing because if they did, they could prevent these kind of "mistakes."

I wouldn't exactly interpret this article in the same way. "humans will probably remain in the loop" is not very reassuring. "Probably" only means 51%. I don't think a 49% chance we lose control is very good odds. Whatever happened to the precautionary principle.

All evidence (except the identity of each agent) is with the states because they control the databases broken into by agents falsely claiming to be the voters they were targeting. Securing the identity from the federal government will be crucial. Might be hard to conceal that info.

You seem to expect Dems to lose if you withhold your vote (that'll teach 'em). If the GOP wins, things are not going to get better for the trans community and they do not care about you. If Dems win w/out you, you've proved your vote isn't needed. Either way trans issues become irrelevant.
220
Greywulff @greywulff.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Have you considered the political consequences of withholding your vote if the Dems win? If they can win without you, you become irrelevant to the electoral process and lose whatever leverage your vote might have had.

Greywulff @greywulff.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Yes, some people want no criticism or pushback but I think that position is wrong. Political change requires uncomfortable advocacy to push the margins of what is possible. However, being blamed for something isn't the same as actually being responsible. Not voting is actually being responsible.
000
Greywulff @greywulff.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
I don't agree with this because I know from personal experience there are many leverage points in addition to voting - personal persuasion, public protests, w/holding financial support, not volunteering, increasing public support, +/- media, shaming, etc.
