At work, we went from upgrading our accounting software every 2 or 3 years for $1,500 to a forced subscription/"upgrade" for $2,200 per year. We are still using the 2019 version because they changed minimum requirements for Windows Server. We can't install 2020 yet until I pay fot 2 Server updates.
