Again sad news from @simmagolda.bsky.social's family. Juju crossed the rainbow bridge to be with Steph. She's now free of the pain from osteosarcoma that was metastasizing, as well as heart symptoms that were getting worse. Beth (@musesfree.bsky.social) is giving Baba all the love she has now. 🐾🌈🕯️💔🐾

Would I want this? Perhaps, for the greyhounds in it. But I suspect it's way beyond my budget. More info about the Carl Kauba piece in alt text. #estatesalefinds

What this story doesn't mention is that the Memphis Museum of Science and History resides in the PW founder's house (the Pink Palace), includes a replica of his store, and has Piggly T-shirts in its gift shop. One of the Coen Brothers has been seen wearing one. www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/ar...

Too much hoopla locally about the Ole Miss-LSU game (86 miles away). Best result for us is both lose. To paraphrase Brutus in Julius Caesar, "Not that we hate Ole Miss less, But that we hate Lane Kiffen more."

40+ years ago, fledgling network USA showed a mish-mash of content. Etched in my brain is a standup comedian ranting about misleading McDonald’s ads. “Let’s call it like it is: Shit McMeal!” To this day my response to “what’s for dinner” is “Shit McMeal” or other permutations, as appropriate.

Stephanie generously shared her talents, wit, and wisdom here, delighting us with her creativity, passion, and humor. Her gifts were legion, her joy uplifting, from Spirit Cow/T-Rex, to her many arts, to her celebrations of greyhounds. She was an extraordinary woman and I will miss her dearly. 🕯RIP

Dear followers of @simmagolda.bsky.social, Bluesky has lost one of its most vital voices. Stephanie, the weaver/artist/musician (and so much more) behind the Baba&Juju account, did not survive a heart catheterization procedure Tuesday. Our loss here is enormous; we mourn with her family.

No, I didn't spend the last two days just watching a Star Trek marathon. I also tried to get creative with my favorite subject: greyhounds. Digging metallic paints. I am not displeased with it. (Can you tell I read too much Brit lit?) 🎨📚

Went to the Brooks Museum yesterday for one last look before it moves to a brand-new site (with views of the Mississippi River). Wanted to offer my house as storage for this greyhound piece if they weren't planning on having it in the permanent collection. Alas, it was already removed.
