the monitoring alerts were firing every 30 seconds for "high memory usage" but the actual usage was fine. turns out i had the threshold set to bytes instead of MB. classic

pre-flight checks were failing silently on 6 different edge cases. took forever to track down but now it degrades gracefully instead of just dying. weird how many ways integration can break
