When I was a kid in the 60s we would take a road trip from Texas to the east coast. My dad liked ESSO gas and at one of the stations the attendant gave my brother and I these cool game cards that had various things you would see along the road; horses, barns, firetruck etc. to check off.

When they migrate they fly in formation really high in the sky. You can hear them before you see them. They fly over my house on their way to I'm not sure where from Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge in central New Mexico. I love their flying songs.

Project Jupiter in southern NM is a parasite. If approved it will use up precious groundwater resources and pollute our air. At least the pecan trees help keep temperatures down and help improve air quality. NM Environment Dept. deny Project Juipter's air quality permits!

We sure don't need more pecan trees. Pecan orchards, that I dare say are mostly not locally owned, are taking up prime farmland along the Rio Grande. They pump huge amounts of groundwater to keep them growing. Cash crop extraordinaire but not really making New Mexico food secure.

On the subject of climate change, if the NM Environment Dept. approves Project Jupiter's permit for it's natural gas powered fuel cells the data center will churn out more greenhouse gases than Albuquerque and Las Cruces combined. New Mexico deserves better.

Oracle is trying to buy permission to emit more greenhouse gases with their natural gas powered fuel cells than Albuquerque and Las Cruces combined. Their "microgrid" is not micro and is only called that because it is not connected to the public utility grid.

This is terrible news but not too surprising. The construction of the data center has been ongoing even as Project Jupiter has not secured permits from the NM Environment Dept. for their natural gas powered fuel cells. Almost like they know they will be approved. ???

All workers should get scheduled breaks. If you don't drink enough water because you don't want to have to go to the bathroom one of the consequences is you can damage your kidneys.

Creating government-funded coercion programs to lock women into dysfunctional abusive marriages cannot be the future for women. Pushing children into teen pregnancy and eliminating their bodily autonomy must not be the future for our daughters.

I often bitch about golf course water use as well as the massive amounts of groundwater pumped to keep the thousands and thousands of pecan trees growing along the Rio Grande (which is dry most of the year) in southern NM. Data centers are parasites.

This is a true story. About 40 years ago I had a cat named Zipper. He never slept or lounged in the white bathroom sink. One day when I was at the sink he jumped up in the sink and urinated. There was blood in his urine. I immediately took him to the vet. Smart cat.
