Silent Hill - cemented my love of atmospheric horror
Dark Souls - reshaped my brain regarding challenge and worldbuilding
Super Metroid - made me a full blown search-action fan
Pajama Sam - kicked off my love of games and cartoons early in life
LittleBigPlanet 2 - kicked my creativity into hyperdrive and also got me into my #1 band Nightwish
Katamari Damacy - made me love all things weird and funky
Metal Gear Rising - really activated my hype centers with spectacle and music combined like few others
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee - my first exposure to Godzilla and the start of my love of big monsters hitting things

i always thought of myself as a big Metroid fan, but the older i get the more i realize i might just be a big **Super Metroid** fan, lol the first 2 Primes, the GBA games, Dread, and Metroid II are all games I'm fond of, but Super is the only one that just TRANSPORTS me, y'know

A LOT of realistic creatures in games and film are over-animated imo. Small critters can be very still, and their movements jerky. Add too much smooth easing and it very quickly looks like a cartoon.

It's funny what makes a game feel monotonous. SF64 is just moving and shooting, but it's exciting the whole time. Elden Ring has hundreds of weapons and spells but the combat encounters often feel considerably more samey. Maybe scope really does play a big part in making an action game tiring?

Hard to say, i do have a perpetual license of Harmony 17 that I can still use, but I think it's a good move to branch out and not feel constrained to just one app. Been playing with TVPaint and enjoying it, and Moho seems worth digging into some more too. I'll def keep experimenting at least.

I use CSP for most non-animation drawing and know some folks who like using it for animating. It's not perfect but it's much more affordable than some of the competition and I enjoy using it

- there's nothing to focus on except animations and dodge timing, it feels less like I'm part of a world and more like the developer WANTS me to see the code and numbers beneath the art - especially when you have to dodge roll THROUGH stuff like explosions, which totally breaks any sense of logic
