Yesterday a Korean-American friend gifted me a box of apples & I said, "Oh no, do you have to apologize for something?" Then he said, "Oh no, why did you think that?" Then I knew...I've watched far too many K-dramas. (The word for apple and apology are homonyms, pronounced "sagwa")

Korean netizens cancel culture is so freaking petty. They try to shoot down Queen IU's drama due to missteps on the production design team and now they're going after this talented actress for impurities in her ancestry? It's kind of sickening. Hope these complainers get a taste of karma someday

Some initial thoughts on #SeeYouatWorkTomorrow 1. Didn't realize Park Ji-hyun could be this adorable--guess she'd never been given the chance to show this side as a FL 2. Is Seo In-Gil only taking roles where he seems robotic now? 3. Love the supporting cast, esp Kang Mina who deserves FL roles too!

I've been watching We Are All Trying Here because it's by my favorite Kdrama writer...but it's felt like a bit of a slog TBH. (Netflix calls it warm & healing--not so far!) Except when Go Youn-Jung comes onto the screen. She is LUMINOUS. She is the perfect example of "banjjak-banjjak" to my mind!

#StillShining should have been named Spectacularly Shitty Timing. Even when a show is sad, you should feel grateful that you'd been able to experience the story. I don't feel grateful. I will probably avoid writer Lee Sook-yun dramas in the future. Acting was amazing, though! PS Kim Min-ju = Tzuyu

Went to see K-film "Hi.5" tonight with my wife and our K-drama buddies!! It was a blast and we had so much fun pointing out actors from various shows (3 of whom are currently in "Our Unwritten Seoul" even though this was filmed 4 years ago!!). Also kind of sad to see our fallen star Yoo In-ah...

Seo Hyun-jin is my favorite kdrama actress--she emits such a combination of beauty, charm, tenderness, comedic timing, pathos, and strength often in the same character. I saw a clip from You Are My Spring (which I initially loved, but later fell flat) and it just reminded me of how great she is

A 2024 Kdrama that totally flew under my radar but is amazing = Family Matters (now on Viki). It is violent/gory as all get out, yet at heart is a tender love story of a found family in an evil world (hated that the villains are all fake Christians but there are phonies seeking power thru religion)

Skipping ahead to Day 13 to catch up..."A Hilarious Comedy": the one that left me in stitches the most (and sometimes in tears) is Be Melodramatic. Chun Woo-hee is a comedic genius: her little nose wrinkle smile, her dead-eyed stares, her shamelessness...the rest of the cast is all superb as well
