So two guys with a combined age of 78 scored all the goals for Miami today vs DC United. Definitely not a retirement league…

34 goals. Almost double Atleti’s 18 who are in second place in LaLiga behind Barca.

Very true. He was a tough, intelligent engine of a midfielder for us.

The #USMNT haven’t played a game outside the USA since Nov 2024. 32 consecutive home games since then. And now the 2028 Copa America will once again be played in the USA. They’re expected to also get to host or co-host the 2027 Gold Cup.

Anytime there’s an empty seat in a stadium where Messi is playing it says to me that the foundations of society are crumbling and people hate art. 😂 Seriously tho, these are just some of his best passes, not even his goals. www.instagram.com/reel/DeCSluY...

Echoes of Trump’s “Suckers. What was in it for them?” Tucker gleefully riding as close as possible to Nazi apologist territory here. Rees-Mogg should’ve walked out if he had any principles.

It’s exactly why Carney got elected. A pragmatic centrist up against an incompetent squawk-box in PP. It’s what we needed and many wanted. Too bad no credible example of this exists provincially.

Went to see Don’t Look Back In Anger, the Oasis reunion doc, last night. Truly amazing. Seen a bunch of these from various bands and the only one that competes with it is the Hip’s No Dress Rehearsal.

Last time the #USMNT plated outside the US was Nov 2024 v Jamaica. Since then their next 29 games were on US soil. So are the next three on their schedule including CanMNT next month. Can’t imagine any other country plays so few away games.

The 1986 UBC Men’s soccer team was one for the ages. We were recognized before the UBC v UVic game on Saturday to mark the 40th anniversary of winning the national championship in Toronto - 4-0 vs UoT. Undefeated all year & only 1 goal conceded. Still see many of the guys from this team regularly.

It’s always the ‘Mou Show’ with Mourinho. 10 cups of excuses for every teaspoon of accountability is his post game go-to recipe.

Jonathan David, at the time of this post, has played 115 minutes for Atleti across 2 La Liga games and a Champions League game vs Liverpool and has two goals and an assist. Seems he's adjusting nicely to life in Madrid.

And you don’t think enfeebling the US middle class to the point of acquiescence and submissiveness is/was part of the plan? Too many of you have behaved like sleepwalking sheep and look where it’s led you. The protests are years too late. Elected Dems share some blame in this too.

At the end of the 20-21 season, Wrexham finished 8th in the National League, the 5th tier in English football. West Ham finished 6th in the Premier League. Just over 5 years later they play each other tomorrow. That’s sport. That’s a meritocracy. That’ll never happen in a top tier pro league here

Economic retaliation. Stop working and stop buying. Feel some discomfort for awhile and then realize it’s causing your politicians and oligarchs even more discomfort.

gregors-newsletter-aefa0e.beehiiv.com/p/behind-the... Today's U20 Women's World Cup results for the US and Canada support the thesis in BTP #88. Both lost with the US losing to Italy; a country they would never have dreamed of dropping points to.

We’re sort of sick of hearing you “don’t approve of this.” Maybe move the needle a bit more than that. Your country is disintegrating in front of your eyes and the world’s. Do more to fix it.

Caceido’s use of the ball in this first half is driving me nuts. He’s had 1v1’s wide on the left 6-7 times and only got behind the defender once despite his speed. I think he’s played maybe one ball into the box from this opportunities. #whitecaps

Was looking for a photo for my newsletter and found this from 17 years ago. My girls team, the Roadrunners, doing the pyramid as part of their warm up (foot, thigh, shoulder on one side, then head and back down the other side). This team was such a fantastic group of girls to work with.

Said the same about the CSA's 'Close the Gap' effort to try to get more girls playing the game. Their committee, see graphic, has room for everyone except people who have actually been boots on the ground at club level. My thoughts on it here: gregors-newsletter-aefa0e.beehiiv.com/p/behind-the...

Wow. Mou just showed his starting point at Real is to be deferential to the superstars. Taking Guler out for Diomande when he’s clearly been better than Mbappe and Vini (who’s on a yellow) is a brutal decision. Here’s the player ratings when the sub was made.
