You did a very good job with sharing your JFDI System on YT. Oh boy did that look like a cool thing and sparking so much new ideas what to do with such system...

In this SEDI session, anarchist writer and editor Iain McKay delivers a brisk, idea-dense tour of Peter Kropotkin’s science, ethics, and revolutionary politics—showing how the famed geographer’s fieldwork and evolutionary arguments undergird a living anarchist program www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvYc...

"Back in the days we used Xerox!" Not the brand, but the concept. I don't know, something that feels very aligned to that is what Struthless showed with his mid-year journaling a few days ago. Maybe that's a cool thing to see/watch for you: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-Kl...

@ungated.life hey rob, you were looking for a word starting with P to displace "the underworld" How about these? - Perdition (means eternal damnation or hell — often used as a synonym for the underworld in a Christian context) - Pit (as in “bottomless pit”) - Phantom realm

After a long time of being a generalist, I don't want to feel FOMO about specialisation. Same time it gets hard to be hired the usual path without it. Prefer the curiosity and learning angle of new situations.

try kimchi or other ferments with it. Best recommendation is a "Northmans Kraut", that contains hemp seeds, Nori sheets, Ginger and Cabbage, ferments it for at least 6 weeks and gives a kick of a condiment for your savory oats. Alternative: Pickled Wineleaves, Mushrooms and Walnuts as a "salad".

The main reason why I am not concerned with AGI-AI shit, is that we know how bad the current Mechanic Parrots are with executing Prompts and this will not change soon with the rapidly Degradation of work environments and knowledge, plus devaluation of skills.

This feminist anti-natalist piece is a chilling, eye-opening read - all the reasons in one place why pregnancy and child-rearing in the US is now so risky and damaging to life-chances And it doesn't even cover the risk for young cis women of hitching bodily autonomy to a red-pilled Gen Z misogynist

A book that might be of interest is "Shock of the Old" by David Edgerton on the persistence of old technology in the current. Its a bit dated, but deals with notions of modernity and what dominant technologies "actually" were. I.e. when Horse breeding peaked, or how long coke furnaces were in use

As @ungated.life said in a recent podcast episode, a lot of what is framed as self-care is the craving for community-based care with non-commodified services towards each other. And its weaponised by capital extraction and defund of public (health) care.

If you want, you can use a posting bridge between the mastodon and BlueSky account. For some it makes the interactions more conversational - others sadly use it for spam purposes.
