As a kid, I have a memory of being shocked that we beat the mighty Orioles. My dislike for St Louis has never subsided. We are conditioned for heartbreak, but there’s a sliver of why not us, and why not now. I’ll be a wreck for however long it lasts, but also loving every second.

I don’t disagree. The rules are not fit for purpose, if the purpose is fairness. That said, I think the club is 1000x in a better place than compared to Ashley. Is there a long way to go, absolutely. Might the club never reach its goals, also yes.

The counterpoint to this is that economic changes, war and performance of other fund assets (cough Neom) haven’t been what PIF expected a few years back. If the choice is slow and steady versus flash and then gone as soon as the flash, I’ll take option A. That said, the 2030 stuff makes no sense
