... Trump is unhappy about people crossing the US/Canadian border illegally. So don't say you'll hire people to prevent border crossings! Say you'll bring in as many Hamas terrorists as you can and dump them into the US. Giving bullies what they're demanding is simply rewarding the bullying.

I like the BC government's strategy of not selling booze that comes from red states. Pulling US products from store shelves makes a lot of sense, but we shoud be targetting the retaliation more. So why isn't Canada putting a 100% tariff on Teslas!

I own two (small) Canadian companies. We've stopped using our suppliers in the US, for the most part switching to Canadian alternatives. I've been telling the suppliers why we've stopped using their services, and they've all been understanding.

Kobo was based in Toronto and has a large office there. But it is now owned by Rakuten, a Japanese company. I much prefer Kobo to KU, and find that most of the books I want to read are in Kobo Plus. And I know from experience that Kobo Plus pays much better royalties to writers than KU does.

So I'm not really using BlueSky, but I'm getting occasional chat messages on here. So far, I've had 8 messages, apparently from actual people (three of whom I know in real life). And I've had 13 messages from "deleted accounts." Presumably all spam. Not a very encouraging percentage!

Thanks, Google, for reminding me that my birthday is next month. With my aging memory, I'm sure I would have forgotten. (Why do they think that ANYONE needs to be reminded of their own birthday?) I wish I'd grabbed a screen shot. So incredibly stupid. Or am I missing something?

The landline in our kitchen died. I'd happily get rid of it but... So most phone stores don't sell the things any more. Amazon does. And almost all of the ones they sell are designed for seniors -- great big buttons and such. When I pointed that out, my comment was met with frosty silence.
