How does leisure contribute to a healthy educational process? As soon as it’s asked, the question sounds like a distraction, even an inefficiency. Or it comes over as a luxury reserved for the privileged. Maybe those reactions merit analysis. Whose interests are served by shaming leisure?

Sam, I agree with you analytically. But I think it’s important to acknowledge that “Christian nation” language goes all the way back and contributes to what we’re facing now. You point that out when you note that many Black Protestants would affirm some of your selected survey questions.
