Thank goodness the PQ is kept to a minority with the Liberals doing better than expected. As an ex-Montrealer, this is a relief. Hopefully this government won’t last too long.

I’m on Threads, in Ontario, used to live in BC, my son is still there. That was a great post. Do not go the same route as Ford, who has been destroying healthcare, education, environment affordable housing not getting built. He’s giving contracts to US companies. You don’t want MAGAs running BC!

He has only a 1 seat majority with a dysfunctional Conservative opposition. Most of that opposition are MAGAs. If they get in, you’ll get exactly what Ontario & Alberta are getting, private healthcare & more chance of becoming the 51st state, because that’s their aim.

I’m in my 70s, started working at 17. We sure have been through a whole lot. And still young in spirit.

He hit the nail on the head with that one. PP was the most useless MP I ever had in my lifetime. Still living in that mansion complete with staff at our expense.

🚨 BREAKTHROUGH: Canadian scientists at the University of Waterloo Dr. Brian Ingalls, Dr. Sara Sadr, and Dr. Marc Aucoin have engineered “tumor-eating” bacteria that can invade and consume cancerous tumors from within. A potential breakthrough in cancer treatment research.

Stop undermining what a strong leader JT was. He was tough when it came to Trump, went down for a visit. Stood up to him when we were hit with tariffs. Only one to step up to end the Ottawa convoy when no one else would. He was much like PET in that regard.

Went to one in our area once, was terrible. Dollarama is much better.

That is so beautifully written. I listened to some of their songs today, Ahead By A Century still my favourite. Will watch the concert again. I’ll always miss him❤️

We worked hard to get PP out of Carleton after he joined the trucker’s convoy. It’s no secret who he supports. He won’t get security clearance because he’s not able to. Honestly, it felt like a real betrayal. We had hoped he would step down, very frustrating. He needs to go asap.

We also have our own rhubarb & I buy Ontario strawberries (we have a few of our own also) and make rhubarb strawberry crumble or pie. Delicious! Just picked bowls of raspberries and black currants, make jam & jelly with them. Real savings having our own fruit.

What’s really sad is my father was from New Jersey, my grandparents came through Ellis Island, which we visited on our last trip to NYC in 2014. Used to go to the U.S. often on both coasts when living in BC for years. We can’t go there anymore. Last time was Arizona just before Trump was elected.

When will these idiots ever give it up? We had enough of them, including my former MP PP taking part by bringing them coffee and donuts. Who wants to see them at Bluesfest, these flags should be banned especially at a music festival.

We used to live in Surrey for years (my son’s still there) and remember the farms in the area we would go to pick/buy our fruit. I hope the Agricultural Land belt in the Fraser valley is still there. We still get blueberries from the farms there imported to Ontario, when I buy them in season.

I’m supposed to get the 2nd shot but worry about the side effects. First one wasn’t too bad, I usually get a sore arm. I’ve had a head cold or pollen allergies these past 2 weeks so am putting it off for now. Glad you’re better.

Yes it is. We cut off clumps of berries then take them off the stems. A visiting relative from Alberta picked them for us, a huge help. Still have some to pick. Our raspberries aren’t ready yet but usually get enough for our jam, especially the fall crop.

Those tarts look delicious! You sure have been busy with those cherries. We managed to pick a load of black currants in our backyard & hope we have enough for jelly I make. They are very fiddly.

No kidding. I’m still on X due to so many remaining there. Had a heated debate this week with an old NDPer who literally trashes PMMC on everything. I’m also on Threads (yes time consuming!) but PMMC is very popular on that site. He also remains high in the polls, especially when we still have PP.

Awesome, I make my own raspberry jam from our garden, also strawberry, peach and apricot. Cherry is one I don’t make. Last batch didn’t set. Plus pitting them all is time consuming. Gave my pitter to my daughter as she wanted it. I’m sure your jam will be delicious.

Bonus is they’re from Alberta & staunchly anti separatist. Wanted to celebrate Canada Day on the Hill with friends. Too bad the weather didn’t cooperate that day with evening events cancelled.

Just bought a bottle of white wine for a guest relative staying a few days. It’s from a Niagara winery and said it’s fantastic. Our grocery stores only sell Ontario wines.

Glad you posted this important article which should be read widely. I’m still trying to convince a few who are livid over his environmental policies, which make total sense. We’re darn lucky we didn’t end up with PP, responsible for killing JT’s carbon tax, which was very unpopular.

I find that odd for Ontario, cities I’ve been in have good ones. We can only put garbage out every 2 weeks in Ottawa. Recycling every week. Was the same in Oakville.

I believe she must find a buyer, PMMC has said he won’t fund one. It was stipulated in the MOU.

All major events were cancelled yesterday, including fireworks, so much rain & violent thunderstorm flooded many parts of Ottawa, including the Hwy 417, near Bayshore area etc. We had a tornado alert here night before. Having relatives from Medicine Hat tomorrow, they had to leave the Hill yesterday.

Happy Canada Day to you too🇨🇦 unfortunately having a huge thunderstorm at the moment so not going anywhere. Not so great for local activities in the neighborhood. Hopefully fireworks will still happen tonight nearby, can see them from home🎇🎆

Can’t stand him. Bought Ontario strawberries today to make jam. There were some from the U.S. but most produce at our Superstore is local or greenhouse. Won’t buy anything from the U.S.

I do the same as much as possible. Have to be so diligent because the odd thing slips through. We’re growing our own garden so will soon have our own produce or buy from local farm vendors nearby. Grocery stores here a pretty good bringing in from our massive Ontario greenhouses.

When we lived in Oakville we visited Ward Island. Moved to Ottawa, much smaller city but terrible city transit we never use. Lovely waterfront parks however we love to visit.

He was my MP, he’s not running in that riding again, Damien Kurek will be. PP is looking for yet another riding if he survives long enough with his dismal polling numbers, at 29%. He used them to get back in the HOC.

Looks wonderful and although I don’t make fish chowder, I do make other soups and cook almost everything from scratch. Very easy to make economical meals out of a few basic ingredients. We do have fish once a week however with the odd indulgence of fish&chips from our local restaurant.

I wonder if any of them will have the gumption to leave the party and cross the floor. Or sit as an independent. PP’s polling so low they may all lose their seats. I’m so sick of him I tune him out. So frustrating because we worked hard to get him out of Carleton.

Will be pulling ours this week and will make a strawberry rhubarb pie Thursday when my youngest sister comes for a visit from out of town. Also love it plain with custard.

About time. PP should have resigned when we voted that loser out of Carleton. He doesn’t care about his new riding, used them to get back in the HOC & cling to power. Now they are paying the price.

I sometimes shop at Farm Boy, I rarely buy boxed greens, always buy Canadian greenhouse grown produce. This is good to know.

I’m a boomer who grew up with protest music artists, which were many. Saw Graham Nash recently & sang Ohio, but recently discovered Jesse Welles, a talented young musician who sings all types of protest songs, including No Kings with Joan Baez. Sings Join Ice. He’s popular outside the mainstream.

I can be the same sometimes, one thing I always hated was surprise birthday parties. Never did have one thank goodness, rarely had any at all. I’d often open Christmas gifts on my own despite being from a big family.
