So we'll see a lot of talk about it, to keep the social licence to operate of harmful industries and data centres/AI, but imo the price of offset credits will never rise significantly, nor will biodversity credits ever generate significant revenues. 12

Another interesting element imo is the fact that I don't see the political will to make these markets ever scale and actually function. As long as they occupy the public and media space, and thus give the illusion that the issue is being addressed without changing our unsustainable paradigms, 10

In practice there is very limited demand for voluntary CSR purchases, see the carbon offset space, so in practice this fund might enable institutional and retail investors to speculate on the value of forests, and possibly farmland tomorrow, 5/9
