I don't know any clinical trialists personally, but you might want to get into contact with Jarred Younger. He is doing some remote clinical trials.

I'm curious what/any differences there were in patients that completed different aftercare treatments

There is also this current controversy between the Cochrane Collaboration and one of it's founders Hilda Bastian tasked with providing an updated review of treatments for ME/CFS bsky.app/profile/hild.... It is receiving very little coverage, but millions with ME/CFS and long covid are impacted.

I really hope he takes Long Covid seriously. Research for Long Covid by the NIH has not been great so far, to say the least.

This is deeply shocking and disturbing, the opposite of scientific good practice. As I see it, a group of diehards promoting a discredited treatment (exercise "therapy" for ME/CFS patients) are seeking to stifle medical progress - to protect their reputations. And Cochrane has kowtowed to them. 🧵

Thanks so much! A lot has changed in the 3 years since the video, but there’s still no effective treatment for either condition. @georgemonbiot.bsky.social called ME/CFS treatment 'the greatest medical scandal of the 21st century'—a powerful read if you have time: www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Hey @hankgreen.bsky.social, could you do a video on Long COVID and ME/CFS? People don't want to talk about them because they are complicated but millions are struggling with these conditions, and your platform could help raise awareness and understanding 🙏 #LongCovid #MECFS #MedEd

Are you able to use this data to test any association between exercise and crashes/changes in hr/hrv? I would especially be curious about repeated exercise and crashes. That's such a large group that I wonder if a few of them tried GET and you could do some analysis if that lowered their baseline

I think it would have been best to include the no difference in Fatigue, Physical Function, and Cognitive function in the abstract as well, as it just talks about the positive effects. Those 3 seem so central to LC that it makes me question the "recovery/improvement"

"Our findings suggest that offering patients with long covid a ... programme of physical and mental health rehabilitation will probably improve symptoms." Fatigue, Physical Function, and Cognitive function look to have not improved. This seems misleading no?
Comparison: Physical and mental health rehabilitation programme vs usual care.

Outcome	Effect Estimates (Mean difference or risk difference per 1000 people, 95% CI)
Recovery or Important Improvement	161 more per 1000 (61 more to 292 more) 1.55 (1.21 to 2)*
Fatigue	-2 (-3.96 to -0.04), PROMIS-fatigue subscore (mean 50 SD 10; higher scores indicate greater impairment)
Physical Function	0.5 (-1.01 to 2.01), PROMIS-physical function abilities subscore (mean 50 SD 10; higher scores indicate less impairment)
Cognitive Function	-1 (-0.44 to 2.44), PROMIS-cognitive function abilities subscore (mean 50 SD 10; higher scores indicate less impairment)
Mental Health	-1 (-1.98 to -0.02), HADS-anxiety subscale (range 0-21; higher scores indicate greater impairment); -1.5 (-2.41 to -0.59), HADS-depression subscale (range 0-21; higher scores indicate greater impairment)
Quality of Life or Wellbeing	0.04 (0 to 0.08), PROPr health-related quality of life (range -0.022 to 1; higher scores indicate less impairment)
Serious Adverse Events	20 more per 1000 (10 fewer to 50 more)
