The headlines read Student lead protests in France. These folks do not look like students.

It was better than the firsts NAFTA but It was not real free trade. Equal tariffs or no tariffs at all is.

Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 13h
Maybe it was at the time but equal or no tariffs would defiantly be better. For us anyway.

The original NAFTA agreement was so horrible anything was better. On the vey first day of the agreement we were already getting material on the job sites made in Mexico. So you are right the second agreement was better but still not good.

The trade agreement was to make the NAFTA agreement more fair without triggering Canada and Mexico Now the current proposal is to make things fair for real because Canada thinks they are entitled and their politics are going little sideways.

Read more into that if you make millions or have property or any income ties you will be taxed when you leave the state. The Seahawks were taxed heavily on their bonuses for playing in California at the Super Bowl.

Once again You are advocating for MORE unnecessary taxes.

The conversation was about preventing more taxes in California not dog eating prop. Do you believe California does not tax the crap out of its citizens? How is that prop?

So are you for or against taxing your citizens to cover your ass for not balancing your states check book responsibly? And stay away from my dog.

Did you know California actually has a tax for moving out of state?

The pros and the cons are spun all over the place. I just liked this chart because it does not add anymore crazy taxes that will trickle down to the middle-class.

If you think that is hard to find ask anyone who asked for your opinion. For someone who thinks they are educated the point sure went way over your head.

Are state slants information so regularly 90% of our states population hasn't an accurate clue on the propositions or the descriptions of the candidates on the ballot Good luck on finding where the money is going. We need more Nick Shirleys.

It's the highest tax in the nation ! By far! It's a tax problem. If this were your state would you not vote to lower the gas tax? Did you see all the other fees? 49 cents a gal. for "climate" footprint! Zero to do with roads!
100
Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
The latter A lot! They guess $43,000 a mile of road with a 10 year back log. That is for Cal trans alone.

Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
63 cents state tax 18 cents fed tax 49 cents carb and climate foot print for delivery trucks 47 cents regulatory fee 13 cents more state tax 2 cents ro storage tank This is per gal of gas regardless of the price of oil. So they could easily drop the 1st sales tax and still be the highest in the US
100
Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Somewhere between $1.64 and $2.00 goes towards each gallon of gas regardless of the price of oil.
000
Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Very true! BUT California has so much more tax money coming in and our roads suck compared to many other states. They are using us as a piggy bank and are allocating our money everywhere but the direction of what they were originally allocated for.

001
Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Both true. The Iran war was bad timing and Ca. has no reason for a gas tax as extreme as it has.

I'm not sure but these companies are state owned and under state control. Meaning they control the means of production.

Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
If the legislators in California really cared about the price of goods they would have voted to suspend the gas tax which effects the price of delivering those food and services.

Grapeapes @grapeapes.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Gazprom , Rosneft , Transneft ,and Rosatom all state owned energy gas , crude, crude pipelines and nuclear companies. The rest may have private sector.

Israels are used to being attacked and they are fighters. Hopefully at some time in the future they won't have to fight back.

That would be the socialist side of Russia that the state controls. They control the energy.
