As @alicettimes.bsky.social says in this excellent column, we urgently need to reform the school curriculum to match the pervasiveness of AI. The way we communicate, connect and share ideas is going to become essential to education

Surely the wrong question from a news organisation owned and run by an individual who has influenced policymaking for decades. HOW do big donors influence policies is what we need to better understand

I don’t understand why this still happens. @oilsheppard.bsky.social Elizabeth Bratton and @rachel-rees.bsky.social explain to readers the people in this story are Jewish - for no reason whatsoever. What relevance does anyone’s religion have? Are there any Catholic, Protestant, Muslim financiers?

When you glance at the hate, bile and anger on social media sites like this one, you do wonder if social media addiction is a behavioural danger to over-18s as well. When will that court case come?

This new data, published in the BMJ, is astonishing. A quarter of all American football players will have a degenerative brain disease - preventable disease - mostly likely caused by their jobs. In other news, the NFL earned $23bn in 2024

Obviously embarrassing for Harvard Professor Ricardo Hausmann but even more for the FT and its editorial process. Not a single person saw anything wrong with a totally nonsensical article. ‘It has come to our attention…’ is not an excuse

‘A new era’ The Chief Political Commentator of The Times - a day after the most absurd and inconsequential by-election and the relaunch of an investigation into potential corruption within Reform - hails the beginnings of ‘a new era’. The actual Chief Political Commentator

Sometimes the ghostwriter’s story is as interesting as their subject’s. Remember JR Moehringer and Harry? I would love to hear more from Eve Claxton, the expert that Simon & Schuster employed to tell Jason Arday’s story

In an extremely self-congratulatory essay about education - that chooses to ignore the role of technology and artificial intelligence in our lives - Michael Gove insists that exams and an outdated curriculum enable working-class kids to over-achieve. As it did him 50 years ago

This is the key point about the Prince Harry v Paul Dacre story. It’s about freedom in an age when wealthy and powerful people seek to restrict it while inventing bogus narratives

Hadn’t realised media luvvie & establishment stooge Jon Harvey, aka Count Binface - he shamelessly brags of being an Oxford graduate on his poorly-followed LinkedIn page - got so many votes in London’s Mayoral election. Clacton will not be such a pushover. Good luck Nigel

Donald Trump’s genius - and I’m sorry but it is - is that he understands most Americans don’t actually know what communism is. But they know what anti-communism is. There’s a lot of votes in fear

‘Comments have not been enabled for this article’ An article criticising a leading politician for, er, not commenting. It’s an idiotic policy but at least they’re debating it, Roula Khalaf. The FT on the other hand bans all debate on stories about Jews, antisemitism and Israel

We all know Robert Doisneau’s iconic ‘kiss’ photo. As Jean-Marc Dreyfus writes in @nytimes this one - found with a handful of others at a Parisian flea market a few years ago - is even more passionate. But desperate. Two Jews about to separated by Vichy police in 1941

I’ve always found the Giving List to be more interesting than the Rich List. Two thirds of Britain’s richest people give less than 1% of their wealth to charity. ‘You can only eat one dinner’ as my dad used to say

I know it’s way more complicated but almost exactly 10 years ago this man took an unnecessary decision which ended the careers of 5 Prime Ministers, probably 6 soon, created a dangerous surge of right wing nationalism, and made life worse for our children. It never ends

Disturbing example of media spin that totally changes the story to invent a new one. Misan Harriman blames the rise of Reform on how the media and politicians manipulate people. The Daily Mail then tells Jewish people he is comparing the rise of Reform to the Holocaust.

It only took 80 years…but still a great story. A new exhibition entitled To Whom Do These Belong is showing the 225 artworks stolen by the Nazis from Jews that the Musee d’Orsay has kept in storage. Shedding light on a very dark period

As far as I can tell, this is the first expression of support for British Jews from business leadership since the Golders Green attacks. But instead of ‘spokesman’ couldn’t the BCC get its leaders - Shevaun Haviland and Andy Haldane - to put their names on it?

Brilliant and terrible from the @FT. A superb piece by @robertshrimsley.bsky.social ‬⁩ about the need to talk openly about what it means to be Jewish. And yet the editor has prevented any comments from readers and users. Why? Are FT readers antisemites?
