A screenshot from the game Valheim, which in the author's very unbiased opinion is magnificent and should be played by everyone. It shows the character, Yaksdottir, in a home build into and around some standing stones, with a central courtyard full of spooky blue mushrooms and twinkling fairy lights. It probably used more wood per square inch than actual trees contain, and zero regrets are had.

I just made a cherry shrub from some of the most delicious cherries I've had in years (the rest went immediately into my face). I wanted to share the amazing color of it before I dilute it for drinking and it, too, goes into my face.

Last full day here. Ocho's emotional support 'something with mango in it please' had enough rum in it to fuel a shuttle launch, so I had to cut it with a second glass of fruit juice. more ceviche, too. I will miss the ceviche. teppanyaki tonight. I hope to eat my weight in sushi and shrimp.

today is my birthday, and now I am even a million-ier Internet years old. I want to share this card with you all, because it made me feel very full in the heart in general, and fond of my home province in a way I don't always manage. It wasn't a birthday card, per se, but it was a special treat.

The top half of my octopus vacation buddy is complete. I gave him mother-of-pearl button eyes instead of hemispherical black doll eyes and he's maybe less cute for it but I think I like it more.

I did it, lovelies. I fly out to Edmonton in under 24 hours and have a squillion ends to work in on my return, but it's finished. The flare at the end of the sleeves is ridiculous, but that's what I was wanting. Considering the sleeves are entirely off-piste, I'm happy with what I managed.

chugga chugga. the starting pinwheel is just out of shot at the bottom centre. there are 3000ish more stitches to go in the dark green, about 4000ish in each of seafoam and ecru/white, then a narrow edge trim.

This pinwheel here took three days and about twenty tries. It was still not perfect, but it is close enough that I am content. Still wish I could've found some blues that worked, but I'm okay with a queerish mermaid-y spectrum, too.
