can I say something with the whole “midnight worse than shadowlands”. the thing about shadowlands is whether you enjoyed it or not as a *wow* expansion, a lot of the stories in the expansion were fun in isolation. Eg the entire story of Revendreth if you divorce it from a wow context is so enjoyable

Like she's doing all she thinks she can but she says several times she's worried she's a bad mother (and mu thinks she is) and the way she decides she has to look after Esmeralda and Fabio and Dietrich as if she's compensating for her fear that she's abandoned mu even though she's trying to help her and can only do that by going away to the city but because she has that fear it prevents her from being able to connect properly with mu and :agony: it feeds itself. She's trying to give mu the life she never had and hasn't considered whether mu wants that.
She's not a deadbeat but she's got so caught up in the material aspect of providing that she forgot about the emotional one
